A friend just brought a kitty from NYC that we adopted, and she said that travelling with the cat was relatively painless. There were some rules about the carrier, and absorbent pads, and when they got to security they had to carry the cat through the security gates and have the carrier scanned. This cat did not have a collar on nor leash or harness and they did not know the cat. They were TERRIFIED it would run. So please be aware that you may need to remove your pet and secure it well. Luckily this cat was so terrified it went limp! They kept the cat with them on their lap, no problem, but they made sure when they were seated that nobody was allergic to it around them. They were given bulk head seating for extra space with kitty and said they got treated extra well, got off the plane first etc. Kitty arrived intact if not terrified (you would be too, torn away from pet parents, carried outside into unfamilliar areas, FLYING, and coming to some strangers house...) Luckily she seems just fine here now!

A tennis ball helps, too. For me, the thing that helped the most was wearing heels. I had Plantar fasciitis in both feet for over a year. It is quite miserable. It was by pure accident that I realized I was getting some relief when I wore slight heels...about 2". I now call them my plantar fasciitis shoes. Whenever I feel a slight tightness in my arches, I start wearing these shoes. It seems to nip it in the bud immediately. After suffering for one whole year, trying everything, my plantar fasciitis was gone in about two weeks. I put on these shoes from the time I got up until I went to bed at night. Even wore them with my pajamas. This from someone who never wears shoes, which by the way, is a definite no-no. Might not work for you, but it sure as heck worked for me

A good friend of mine knits while travelling. For the first few years after 9/11, she was unable to use knitting needles, but now people can do so. Ambien. I've never tried the stuff, but I've heard so many stories of diverse reactions, l certainly wouldn't want to experiment in the air. Alcohol. If you can handle a drink or three on the ground, go ahead, but note that high altitudes will make the stuff go to one's head much faster than on the ground. Cut yourself off sooner. Unless you like airplane toilets, cutting back on diuretics may be indicated. Although, yes, it's a good excuse to get up and move occasionally. If you are sensitive to any foods, avoid those. Those compression socks sound like an excellent idea! Reading material is essential. A magazine or two, a paperback, an e-reader... I'm not afraid of flying (momentary holding of breath as we take off and land aside). My problem is the extreme discomfort at being folded into seats not meant for tall people with bad knees. Hence I always aim to get aisle seating. Since my last flight, I now have a bad ankle. At any rate, due to my size and leg issues, it is impossible for me to sleep on planes. I suspect not even morphine would do it... i do try to sneak a leg into an edge of that aisle where it won't trip anyone, and drowse a bit, but that trolley (which needs the full aisle) comes by every 30 minutes! At 2 am, really???

We used BaseCore geocell and like some others here, started with one project and man.. ended up installing it all over. We started with a horse paddock to stop the mud, then moved over to the arena, then did a base for a shed, then a driveway and well.. this summer I think we are going to tackle a horse bridal path. Highly recommend BaseCore HD product line as their material, service and quality has been absolutely incredible. Oh and we planted grass in the paddock . We used the 3" BaseCOre HD product there. Used their 2" BaseCore HD for the shed and bridal path. Ended up using the taller BaseCore 4" for the driveway as we have some 18 wheelers come through. I certainly wouldnt use pea gravel like some said. You want an angular rock with some fines in it.
