I'm in over my head and could really use some help

I took on the job of painting my LR, DR, Hallway and think I should have spent the $2000. it would have cost to get it done by a professional.

Now that I'm in the middle of the job, I could really use some advice.

I'm getting roller marks on the larger walls and I don't know why. Doing the smaller walls in between windows, doorways was easier because there wasn't much overlapping.

I'm using Wooster Professional Grade 9" - 3/8" nap rollers.

Even with getting the roller loaded correctly with paint, using the "W" or "V" method to spread the paint and then laying off with a roller top to bottom, I still see marks where I start a new section. I am not taking breaks in between either and am always working with a wet edge.

If I feather the paint out it happens, or I roll it thicker on the edges, it doesn't seem to matter.

I now have FIVE coats of paint on one wall and it still doesn't look right.

I am so grateful for any advice on how to proceed from here. Do I need to sand and start all over again?

My house is 56 years old with walls that have lots of imperfections.

P.S. Good professional painters are worth every penny they charge!
