If I understand you correctly, the colours shown above are your new choices? If so I love the sofa colour with the floral. The only thing I'm not that thrilled with is the accent pillow fabric. I'd like to see a stripe in coordinating colours. The fabric you've shown for the pillows just seems a bit drab to me - but pillows are easy to change later if you decide you want to .

Thanks for the vote.. I am so unsure and feel that I may need to cancel the chairs and start over - but that's not really even a possibility. I LIKE the chair fabric, but the sofa fabric is just so hard to find (I guess it is like finding that perfect golden beige paint - which is also very difficult!)

I love the chair fabric and looked a similar one for our chairs. I do think the sofa fabric is a great match but it is hard to judge texture etc from a picture. If you are really unsure about it though, another option I could see is doing it in solid velvet - either a goldy straw colour or the stone background colour of the floral.

These are actually the colors that work in my house too. Are the accent pillows on the sofa and the chairs? I like the chair fabric. I like the sofa fabric. I like the pillow fabric. There is no reason why you cannot add a striped fabric later on. Don't cancel your order because of the pillows for heavens sake. You're doing just fine. Order what you like in the sofa and chairs. The pillows are good! Everything doesn't have to come from the same place at the same time.

The couch color looks great to me! Pulls the same tones out of the floral well. The only thing I would consider is getting accent pillows on the couch that have more of the green in them as in the green petals in the floral fabric. It will provide a cooler contrast to the warmer tones of the couch. Maybe a great stripe!

Well, looking back at your original thread, I'd stop to think about the differences between the two plans. The new palette is quite strong and warm, with rich saturated coloring. Your other, discontinued, combination is much softer and cooler (although if that's the same colorway on the chair fabric, the original pic may be washed out).

Also think about your lighting selections -- did you end up getting the soft rubbed pewter finish? I think you'd gone with the one that had some warm tones in it, though? Still working nicely?

Another thing to think about -- aside from whether the colors actually look pretty to you -- think about how the room would feel with the new palette, and compare to the feel of the original plan. How do you feel when you're in rooms colored that way? And how do you want your room to feel around you?

The fabrics are beautiful and do look pretty together. The combination does feel very orange-y to me, though. To me, it's also not a soothing, restful combination like your other palette. I like the subtleties and understated quality of the other set, but that's just me. I do still wonder, though, if the lighting fixtures are carrying the feel of your previous selections and not these as much.

Did you say you're in Florida now? How do like the look and feel of those colors in that locale?

Do you really have to rush through these decisions when you're so unsure?

Are you changing your paint colors too? They too, have that soft subtle quality about them (from the photo that is :)

Saw your mantel virtual in the old thread too -- why won't the mantel work? Pre-made sizing problems? It doesn't look very difficult for a custom build.

I would try to throw another pillow color in there....you can have 4 pillows....adding a pretty fringe to the pillows will definately add more pizazze. I think it will look great, just dont be afraid to add another fabric pillow:)

brutuses, thank you. The chair fabric is from Huntington House... and I love it too and feel comfortable with this, but with the difficulty I am having finding a sofa fabric... I am doubting my selection!

Squirrel, what will I ever do without you!? You have such a great memory of my on going project! First, the fireplace width is only 66" (should have been 76-78")I need to play around with this area more, but as I see it now - it will look odd because it will end up tall and narrow. (does that make sense?) but the pre-fab ones will not work at this point, because all the legs are too short. As far as lighting - I have only purchased the bathrooms so far - so that is open to change, but I definitely want a warm, light bronze color or a silver bronze color. I am in Florida now, and I have seen both warmer tones as well as darker - and like both. Living with one or the other.. hard to say! Previous homes, I have had brown/beige and it was okay, favorite sofa I had was a solid chenille green, light the green in the chair fabric. I did love that room - it felt cozy. In the 80's I had my first new sofa - MAUVE - oh yuck, I hated it after just a few months!

I don't "have" to purchase the furniture now, but since I already invested so much time, and I do need furniture to sit on (if I don't buy - room will be totally empty as the old is already gone). It takes 12 weeks ++ I really want to finish this! Oh.. and paint, I do just have a light neutral right now, but think I would change the paint to SW blond or restrained gold if I go with the new sofa color.

This is another option... I like the color and color-wise is is almost the same as my first fabric. It is also a soft fabric, but look very close at the picture and you will see that it does have a light pattern to it (which is why I have initially voided it) Pattern has slanted lines /\ /\

I love all your choices. I think the first material for the couch looks bolder, more like a designer choose it where as the second one looks more neutral and safer. I'm also glad you found a stripe for the pillow - I think with time you might find a stripe that picks up the orangy bronze color of the flower and the green of the other flower in addition to maybe other colors from the chair which I think would make for a lively pillow fabric. The one you have seems a little staid, but certainly works well.

If the second pics are more accurate, I think the palette is much more liveable (esp over time) than with the saturated orangeness of the first pics. They look totally beautiful together, imo. Of course, those are much my lr colors! lol :)

I agree the herringbone pattern of the lighter gold doesn't sit right -- seems a bit casual (suite material) for your chair fabric. It also doesn't seem rich enough, color and texture-wise. As a lighter fabric, it seems to need a bit more of a darker, amber mixed into the threads, too, as with your original selection. The color would be nice, but just doesn't connect on the chair fabric as well.

Not sure what's going on with the pillows, but as far as color and pattern, they all look great together.

Thanks ladies. I have decided to just go for this. I have been looking at the fabric all week-end, it's nice and probably more practical than the lighter gold. I am DONE! I am going to place the order today and more on!

I also think that this choice will go good with either of the 2 rugs I already own.

Very rich looking. Like I said to a poster in the kitchen forum, who's finish carpenters made a mistake causing a better look than the original plan - some mistakes (or in this case - discontinuations) are meant to be!!! I love that chair fabric!!!!

Get outta here! eBay? That's brave too :) Did you get a real bargain on them like some of the ones I've seen on there for next to nothing? Were the colors accurate from their ads? Just curious about the experience of buying a an unseen rug on eBay.

I was a bit nervous... because they were not too cheap but a good bargain for being hand knotted! Colors were VERY accurate, and both dealers would have allowed me to return them. I'd do it again for sure!
