Sadly, Lou's Beloved Wife Ginny..............

..passed away today at 4:50 PM.

As many of you already know, Ginny went into a Hospice Facility last Friday.

Lou will be gone for the next little awhile, but he wanted you all to know.

Deron, they backorder. Or at least, that's what Vintage did for me. I was thrilled, as I didn't want a substitute. I listed no alternative roses on my order. They have told me my backordered 'Pretty Jessica' will ship later when it has built up more size. I received wonderful customer service from them. Sammy, for me here in Texas, it is kind of expensive to order from Vintage. But for roses I can't find at The Antique Rose Emporium, I will continue to go to Vintage & Roses Unlimited. Both places have sent me fantastic looking roses and give excellent customer service. I'm sure Ashdowns & some of the others are just as good, but I haven't tried them yet. Except I did get my Tea Rose book from the great people at Ashdowns. Randy

Good morning! I too try to visualize people and it rarely, if ever, works out. it is nice to put faces to names. Shirley, still thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. i know that's your daughter, brittney and dawson -- who are the others (inquiring nosey minds want to know) and as for your mom, you never know what the next roommate may be, perhaps you can hold off on the move until you see what comes in LOL, however, I think I'd want to be with my own and her secrets kept!!!! annie your dogs are beautiful, as are you. my aunt and uncle, for as long as i can remember, were the first home for service dogs until they were ready to go into training. they had several different dogs from what i recall. sorry about your lizzie...i know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. my next dog is going to be a shepherd, but it's been decided that we will only have one dog at a time now, so I have to wait my turn. (we'll see) i made an anniversary cake for a group i belong to, it was our 7 year anniversary so i made this massive cake. i filled it with alternating layers of buttercream and lemon curd, and dang, if it was not tasty. I was able to take a slice home for the family to taste and seriously wish there had been more leftover, would have made a nice breakfast!!!! a real nice combination, even though it started out that i was going to use raspberry as well...i just couldn't get enough to cook them down to make a nice sauce/filling. it's still so cold and seems to be staying that way until at least next week, when it's supposed to go to the high 40's, with rain. by then, i'll think it's summer. this cold is bone chilling and of course, they are calling for more snow. we haven't got much of it, but.....this year it is bothering me like mad! i shouldn't complain, there are parts of the country that are in the negatives, so i'll just keep my mouth shut on this subject any further! so whose left to post their pic? come out. come out whereever you are! speaking of which, jeanne, how are those triplets of late? is mary ellen still a part of this group? i feel like i haven't seen her in a long time...maybe since she became a grandmom, or right before that? hae a nice thursday! maryanne

oh jessica--i remember some of the photos from 2 years ago, which included so many of our forum friends! it looked like a fantastic time and you were GORGEOUS--you really do clean up well :) hope things go as well this time around! i hope you have someone around who can be depended on to talke lots of pics, annie--tomorrow has the potential to be a real blast and i'd love to see every bit of it! terri--a friend of mine thought she had an unusal hummer in her yard in alabama and after taking a few shots of it, sent them to a recognized birder. he travelled to her home and positively ID'd it as a calliope or a rufous--she'll kill me for not remembering which! the following year he came back and was able to band "noel" and release her again. in any case, it was only the 14th ever recorded in her state and you better believe she spent many, many hours making simple syrup and swapping out feeders for those times when the temps got below freezing. if you haven't been to the attached forum yet, you'll be able to get LOTS of help there! we spent an awful lot of the last 2 weekends cleaning up the boat--always a very sad task as far as we are concerned, not to mention alot of work! i'm ready to just hunker down for the next few months but it would seem that the leaves are just about done falling and SOMEONE thinks we should be scooping them up. hmm. well it's either that or paint the kitchen and i'm not sure which will win. i'm still hoping for hunkering down but we'll see. a special toast to some forum friends that i had hopes to spend the weekend with! i'm really, really sorry it couldn't happen but hope they are all having a ball and we'll hear from them soon--clink! Thank you. This thread has kept me from the gardening and a possible bee sting. I see many old favorites and more exciting, new authors to try. One of my favorites not listed is Robert Van Gulik, Dutch, world reknown expert on China, son of a diplomat I believe and wrote about Judge Dee in the Tang dynasty. Warning, one book has descriptive scene - 'drawn & quartered' for a mean malevolent being. Was Nevada Barr mentioned? Her lonely ranger, Anna Pigeon, works in the natl. parks. Rarely have physical locales' descriptions stayed with me as strongly. I can still go back to the depths of Lake Superior or the Anasazi cliff dwellings. Perhaps a bit on the dark side.

Oh Lou....I'm so glad you took time to let us know. What a big generous heart you have. (and thank you too Ann for being the available one for so many things like this)

You and Ginny, who I'll always think of as "Mrs. Lou", are such a part of our family here. I hope you know that in some way each of our hearts was with you in spirit that last week in hospice. You've shared our joys and silly times, and we share your sadness in Ginny's departure. Love and big hugs...Maureen

Hi Everyone : I responded to your many threads but forgot to hit "Submit".
It was a hard 2 weeks to bear, especially
when you watch someone who was so active,
doing things for others and you are helpless to do anything for her.

I am having a very hard time right now just typing this thread.
Hard to see thru tears.
So, I'll get back to all of you after the services and Burial, on Friday.

Thanks again for all of your thought's and prayers.
I didn't realize I had so many friends here.
