Confirm Clearly Pregnancy Test

Just wanted to share my story. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I bought 3 boxes of this pregnancy test over the past few months. Early in November I took a test and got a positive result. It was the last test of 3 in the box, so I opened a fresh box and took a second test for the heck of it. It was also positive. About 3 weeks, and many phone calls later, I found out at my Doctor's office that I am not pregnant. It is supposed to be rare to get a false positive pregnancy test, and can be a sign of a serious condition. So I googled 'Confirm Clearly False Pregnancy Test' and have found many women that have had the same thing happen to them. One womans' husband tested positive, and another womans' tap water tested positive!! This brand has not been recalled, but in my opinion should be. I hope this may help couples trying to conceive, and good luck!! Christy

I'm sorry you didn't get the pregnancy you were hoping for, and want to thank you for posting this information for other hopeful parents-to-be. That's a generous gesture at what must be a difficult time for you.

That's too bad, Christy. Maybe it's just best to depend on the doctor's report. Don't give up.

Deborah, My comments are mostly common sense, yet probably worth putting in print. I've tried to limit my suggestions to those related to gardening. Avoid any contact with poison ivy. A severe case might normally warrant cortisone steroid treatment, which you clearly can not use during pregnancy. On general principle, avoid anything with toxic plant parts or seeds. Datura and castor bean are two that come to mind. Go way out of your way to avoid physical contact or inhalation of any chemicals, including pesticides, weed killers and fertilizers. Genetic makeup is determined in the first trimester and you don't want chemicals influencing the outcome. If you have cats in the garden stay away from the poop. There is much discussion on this topic elsewhere on GW. I don't believe this is the appropriate forum to discuss the merit of the theories. I say, "Why gamble?" Gardening can be heavy duty business. Speaking from experience, don't lift anything heavier than a baby. You may not even feel the damage done and it isn't worth it. Don't listen to those who encourage you to consume plant products on the basis they are safe because they are "herbal" or "organic". Arsenic is organic. So is ricin from castor beans. I have a HUGE leaved division of S&S, that came from and old clump I've had for probably 6 yrs. that is looking more rugose than I expected! No ink bleeding or yellow leaching from the veins but really heavy dimples in one area of one of the massive leaves! This leaf is larger than any leaf on any S&S I have!!! I sure will hate it, if it's infected!!! You know, on second look--in these pics.--I do see a slight yellow streaking from those veins!! Hmmmm--I'll go out and look up closer. The ones I've seen, that are clearly infected have the dark green blotches and veins bleeding out! I didn't realize it could also present itself with the consistent yellow slash marks from the veins--I thought that was more likely a nutritional problem!! I might invest in that kit to know for sure on this one--because if it's infected, then all of my S&S probably are!!!

Holy crap...and that's putting it mildly. I got a big kick out of the comments section of that article, too. This sighting is close to where I work...and where my kids live. Since I live rural north of Lake Thunderbird...I've been cautious since Dawn's encounters a coupla years ago. We've had something getting into our garbage recently for the first time since I moved out here 6 years ago. We put a trail camera up and finally caught a pic. My heart stopped when I saw the image because the shape of the body & head, along with the stance said "cat"...and it was a BIG cat at that. DH convinced me it was a dog because of the two large shadows on it's body. I say "convinced"....but not really. They were shadows - not clearly marked "spots". I wish he hadn't erased it so I could post it! This animal was walking around our dumpster just after it knocked it over like it was stalking...checking it out for danger. I can understand and appreciate Scott's point of water & food. Unfortunately, I'm very near the water as a major creek from the lake runs just a mile and a half west from our place. We also have many neighbors with cattle and new calves. I'm hoping they continue to MOVE....far, far away. And if we get another pic, I'll post it.

I'm sorry you're going through all this. I've had a lot of health issues since I was in my mid 20s so I know how tough it is. I'm almost 60 so I've dealt with this for over half my life. One thing I have and I think it's more common than people think is low magnesium levels. Doctors don't recognize this as they only check blood serum magnesium levels that will always be high as the body pulls magnesium from the bones to keep the blood levels up so you don't have a heart attack. Instead, they need to check the cellular magnesium level to diagnose low magnesium. There are over 300 functions magnesium is needed for in the body including relaxing muscles and removing lactic acid from them. I've had severe myofascial pain since I was 15 years old, and had every sort of pain in almost every part of my body that couldn't be diagnosed. Fortunately I stumbled on a book on the subject years ago, and have been able to control my pain doing trigger point massage. Everyone has myofascial pain from time to time. Thanks :) We are still trying, and I have no doubt that it will happen. I just know many couples try for months and even years to conceive, and that a false positive could devastate someone in that position. So good luck Mommies!! Christy

I would also like to convey my understanding, that this must have be so disappointing for you. I guess it goes to show, you aren't "really" pregnant until you have had a blood test.

I remember when I used one of those kits, its so exciting to see the colour change, but I never believed it until the doc told me.

It is very thoughtful of you to post this message here to help out others.

We are trying for our second child. I actually had a lot of faith in the pregnancy tests! With my first child, I took three tests and got three positives. When I went to the doctor, I told them that I had three positives, and they never did a blood or urine test. They told me that it wasn't necessary, that home pregnancy tests are accurate. This time after I got 2 positives, I went on vacation, with complete faith in the tests that I took, and was 100% convinced that I was pregnant. I only started to suspect that I wasn't when a coworker of the husbands also had a false positive. So, three weeks later I took another test, and it was negative. I have since taken an EPT test, and a blood test. Both of which were negative. I have contacted the company as well, and they replied that they have received an overwhelming amount of complaints because of false positives. They are issuing me a full refund, I only needed to tell them how much I spent on each box, and the local tax. No receipts, no hassle. Thanks for you well wishes :) Christy
