Oh how pretty! It doesn't look just blue on my monitor - it's got a bit of warm grey and green tones as well. I think it works really well with the dark wood tones.

Thanks for the kind words. I was so scared to put this color on the walls and am SO GLAD that I did. It really has a deep rich feeling in person--I find that using SW Cashmere paint really gives a rich velvety finish.

Does anyone think that I should hang pictures on the wall above the TV? I have a little media cabinet I got at Cost Plus, but I had to add that cheap looking little shelf that you see in the pic because the TV was too low sitting directly on the cabinet. I would love to get a more substantial piece with some shelving. I really have very little display space in this room for some of the pretty accessories I have.

I would also like to get a new bed. I really like those linen upholstered headboards with the tufted buttons. I also saw an amazing comforter/duvet on the "House of Turquoise" site that was a gorgeous Ikat pattern. I have no idea where to find it, but I would kill for it (and the pillows, too. Target has a blue ikat comforter, but I'm concerned it won't be the best quality.

I just had my mom paint her bedroom in this color, haven't seen it yet, thou. Yours is beautiful.

I walked thru Target this a.m. and thought they had some great looking bedding, especially in the colors your wanting to use. If you kept the rest of your bedding white or cream - you could change up a trendier comforter & don't have to really worry about the quality or the feel of it (read cheap!!). We did a white pintucked duvet in mom's and will change out pillows as she gets sick of them.

Pretty color. I like your bed, but I love the one you posted, too! I would not put pictures above the tv-too busy for me. I would hang the tv on the wall! The shelf it is on seems a bit insubstantial and would make me worry about the stability of the tv on it. That would also give you room for a cabinet or something below the tv for your storage.

Well, there is a more substantial shelf than you can see in the picture. I had to buy that thing as the TV was too low on the shelf otherwise. I don't really want to hang the TV on the wall as I don't like the look of the cables hanging out, and for what it would cost to buy the mount and conceal the wires, I could buy a nice new cabinet.

Basically, my problem is money! As a single person paying the house note and all the bills alone, I don't have a lot left over, and I have champagne tastes! I basically have to buy what I can afford, and concentrate on one nice thing at a time. I need a new desk, bed, media cabinet, and rug in this room, but I need a new loveseat, chairs, and media cabinet in the LR first! I find wasting money on junk to get the things I need faster is a bad idea--I'd rather spend more on stuff that will last over a slower period of time. But sometimes, it gets REALLY slow, if you know what I mean!

Okay, finally got those darn drapes hung. It's such a pain measuring, leveling, etc. Took me darn near 2 hours from start to finish!

I really like these curtains. They have a nubby woven sort of texture with a very slight sheen and are lined. They are the 'sand' colored Cuidad panels from Pier One. Trouble is, I think a truer white would look better with my wall color. I don't love it against my walls. Not doing anything about that now!

And here is a close up of the chihuahua named Peewee since ya'll seemed to like him. 90% of the time, he is perched on his throne, right between the pillows on the bed!

I'm really liking the rods and drapes. Gives the room a nice finished look. Good job on getting the rods leveled. One point tho, I may have gone with a longer panel.

Btw, your accessorizing the bed really made a big difference. That has got to be the most comfortable looking doggie bed I have ever seen. :) PeeWee looks like he's about to enjoy your efforts.

I know, I know! The drapes should be a little longer, almost grazing the floor. I couldn't do that, though, or the rod would be blocking out the trim on the window, and I thought that would look stupid. I guess next time I'll have to get the 8 foot long panels. I thought about getting a chocolate brown trim piece to add to the bottom of the panels.

Yes, a brown trim on the bottom would look sharp. I meant to come back & say I thought your current bedding is very nice & you could add different fabrics to the foot of the bed. The ikat looks great with what you have.

Peewee....you look just like the taco bell dog!! Does he like to sit on the cushions on the back of chairs, too? My shih(t) tzu leaves dents on my chair cushions - little booger. He KNOWS he's royalty!

I saw my mom's queititude yesterday & gosh, that is a gorgeous color!! She put rainwashed in her bath & I don't like it nearly as well.

We also found nice nightstands at Pier One for her room rather reasonably. They have a catalog in the store of all of their furniture. We splurged (for us, anyways!) on some gorgeous crackled gourd lamps with silk shades. I'll have to sneak a picture & post it.

Scooby, I am trying to figure out what color to paint my bath, too. I was thinking maybe BM Stratton Blue (like a darker version of Quietude --- like it better than the SW equivalent, Halcyon Green, which I find too grayed out). I also was toying with the idea of a rich neutral. I need to match the tiles on the floor and shower. I'll try to get some pics later today for recommendations.
