she is too demanding. please help

First, my mom never hits me. My brother and I got into a fight at McDonald'sÃ¯Â¿Â½we threw ketchup on each other. I'm older (I'm 15), he is 13. I got some ketchup on a woman's clothes and my mom had to reimburse her for the damage.

My mom freaked out on me, she told me I was an immature baby and my brother tooÃ¯Â¿Â½in front of people in McDonald's. Leaving McDonald's, she told us that she should get us some pacifiers and some pampers and a playpen. People were looking at me, as if she were right. she embarrassed me for no reason.

She took away my XBox cell and i pod. I can't go out on weekends now. On the car ride home she was yelling at us, telling us when she goes to Walmart, she should buy us a crib and stuff.

Can I turn her into CPS for abuse saying those things to me? Isn't it slander or something saying lies about someone? Saying I need those things and making me look bad in public? For the record, my brother started it. It's not fair she took away my stuff and I can't go out now. she is overeacting over this please help with adivce. I KNOW I MADE A MISTAKE. i just want her to chill out and be cool and dont treat me like im 2 years old.

I tend to think you're a troll, but on the off chance a 15 year old actually comes to a home and garden website, do this:

1) Sincerely apologize to your Mom for behaving poorly in the restaurant - it doesn't matter who started it. You participated. And, you embarrassed her and you embarrassed yourself (even if you don't know it).

2) Get out your wallet or do some extra chores or get a job bagging groceries to reimburse your Mom for having to pay the woman whose clothes were damaged.

3) Read up on how to conduct yourself appropriately in public. Miss Manners has a daily on-line column in the Washington Post (and other newspapers on-line). Read it faithfully and take the advice to heart.

4) Take the removal of privileges with grace. Don't whine or complain. This is how a mature person reacts to natural consequences of their actions. In a week or two, repeat your apology and POLITELY ask to have your privileges reinstated.

5) Figure out a different, more mature, healthier way to react to your brother when he antagonizes you. Google has tons of options when searching "anger management" or "sibling relationships".

6) Come to understand that your Mom is trying her best to raise you to be an intelligent, respectful, and successful adult. She's not backing away when you get out of control. For this, you ought to be begging her for forgiveness, not talking about calling CPS.* When you truly grasp this concept, you'll realize that this punishment is not only fair, but is less than what you deserve to have gotten.

* If your parents are burning you with cigarettes, sexually abusing you, putting you in frequent physical danger, chaining you up in the basement, starving you, preventing you from attending school regularly, purposefully denying you medical care, or frequently physically attacking you, feel free to call CPS. Until then, don't waste their time and resources. Kids in far, far, far, far, far, far worse situations than yours need the help CPS provides, which they CAN"T if their case load is all tied up with having to deal with kids whose Moms yelled at them in McDonalds for throwing ketchup.

I must say that your spelling and grammar and construcion are excellent, And congratulations for not using the detested common teen texting shorthand, too.

I only have one thing to say, and it works whether you are 15 or 25 or 35, all your life. Act the age that you wish to have people think you are.

Marla, Your plant has suffered death from too much water. The next time this happens, (and try not to have a next time), rejuvenate your violet with sips of water and misting with hot water until new growth begins. Make sure the water is hot as it will cool down considerably by the time the spray reaches the plant. Drying out desiccates the roots and dumping loads of water on a plant with a compromised root structure is an invitation for failure. The next time you want to leave your plants for an extended period of time, water well, place in a darkened area and leave. People absolutely FREAK when I tell them this but it works quite well. Wow! That is definitely odd behavior! Is it possible that she was pregnant when she was spayed? When I was a child that happened to my sisters cat, and I know it threw that normally sweet cat out of whack for a while. Nothing as overt or aggressive as your describing, but it was a definite mood change. Interseting that she's only showing the aggression to your husband. Perhaps a male vet or vet tech frightened her before the surgery, and she's associating men with that kind of pain/disruption? In the short term, maybe try something like Rescue Remedy in her water, or Feliway on her favorite areas -- or even something of his. Maybe if she begins to associate that calming feeling with his scent, she'll get over the urge to gut him! Good luck; sounds like it's pretty unsettling for all of you.

Aw caroline94535, that was such a sweet comment. I was not able to bring those antique pieces b/c they are too big, but the library card holder I purchased from dh, Randy's, elem school in Marksville. Small desk is from a school where I taught. The washboards and triangles were purchased through a grant I received from The Cajun French Music Association. Renowned musician, Mr. Hadley Castille, and his band did a 6 week set of lessons with my 4th grade class and the kids learned to play these primitive instruments. They did a PBS performance. It was fun. The 2 sets of shutters on windows are from Mom's kitchen (they make me smile). The huge roll of craft paper was my mom's. She was very artistic and always sketching something. I need to get a holder for it. That little wooden index card box is from my daddy's furniture store. He and my Uncle Oscar borrowed $500 from my Aunt Lillie's husband - an "orphan train baby", my rich uncle (LOL!), and opened a mom and pop furniture store in 1949 after they came home from war. Daddy and Uncle Oscar were both unmarried so they volunteered to stay longer so that married men could go home to their families. Many other items are gifts from my sis-in-law, best friend and soul mate, Carmen- old jars w/ zinc tops, soda pop crate, pics, a sheet of Elvis stamps, and old phone. Shades-of-idaho, Carmen is "Louise" to my "Thelma". Thank you for the prayers, caro.

Laura This may sound very blunt, but it is true: your plant is very, very etiolated. It is starved of light. Hopefully it will be getting more light in new loc, but it may not be enough. Without very serious pruning, you will have long and skinny branches that can't support themselves. They should not need any support. So do not worry, pruning will not kill it. If my plant, this is where I would cut (I am only judging from photo, if I could see it maybe even more:):Most likely another branch or two...but start at least with these. All pruned off branches will grow into new plants, btw. If you decide to prune, take pic after and post for more suggestions. Leaving some branches on with leaves will help in food production. They can be pruned off any time later (and you may feel more comfortable at hacking :) If interested or have more q, post...
