Way too skinny jade- help please!

I received a jade plant from my sister about 8 or so years ago when she was moving and didn't want to take it with. She had already been keeping it for some time, so it's probably about 10 years old. I only recently realized that the trunk should be much thicker...at its widest point, its about as thick as the face of a penny, and it is a little over 2ft tall, but cannot support itself. (I have several supports holding it up) I'm willing to prune it, but not sure how drastically I can do so without killings it. I repotted about 6weeks ago and moved it from an east-facing window to a south facing one. I am in Wisconsin, zone 4, and it is currently an unseasonably warm February. Suggestions?
