Which neutral SW paint for basement?

Hi there, I need help picking a neutral tan shade for my basement please. It's spacious, it's a walk-out w/ a sliding door, but the other half of it isn't so it only has 2 small windows.
The colors I've tested so far are SW softer tan, macadamia, whole wheat & relaxed khaki (have this in our MB, but it looks greenish in the basement). I was also considering nomadic desert, but I haven't gotten the paint sample yet.
I want to keep a light, airy but warm feel if that makes sense. I dont really want pink or green undertones either. Any other reccs or thoughts? Thanks!!

It is hard to advise based on just a general description of paint colors but here is a tip ...

Paint small ply wood boards (1ft x 1ft), or painter's canvass boards all the colors you are considering. Prop them up against the most visible wall and observe them over a couple days (or a week) in various lights -- interior lights only, some sunlight, full sunlight, etc.

Your favorite color or tone will stand right out!

Sorry, I only used the Sherwin Williams paint names bc I know a lot of people on this forum are familiar w/ them.
Thanks for the advice though. I've already painted small patches directly onto my basement wall. I keep looking at them at different times during the day but I still am not completely sure yet.

Once you get the color your painter can have it matched in the cabinet paint he uses. Get a sample panel painted and check it in your space. BM Cabinet Coat is one product. Target Coatings makes a product for painting cabinets. They can match any SW or BM color Here.

Some neutrals and lighter colors can really shift hues when the formula is cut, but I have successfully cut Edgecomb Gray. If you want two shades of Edgecomb Gray and all ready have a sample can of paint I would buy a second sample of just the base without any colorant and buy an oral dosage syringe from the local drug store. Get 2 ramekins or other small containers. In one mix 4 ccs of the Edgecomb Gray with 2 ccs of the white In the next mix 3 ccs of the Edgecomb Gray with 3 cc of the white In the next mix 2 ccs of the Edgecomb Gray with 4 cc of the white Paint sample boards and see which shade of Edgecomb Gray you like. You won't run the risk of a different undertone. Sometimes the paint store help is not good with the math and screws up the ratio. If you know how to do the math, call the store and get the formula for the gallon size Edgecomb gray and do the math yourself or take the painted sample and have them color match the painted sample.

I have used Cashmere in several rooms in our house and in my son's house. I think we used the lowest sheen that wasn't absolutely flat. It would help if they kept the finishes consistent across the lines, but they can't do that either. I believe my half wall below a chair rail in my FR is Emerald because Cashmere didn't come in quarts and I have so many doors, windows and a fireplace in that 3-sided room that we didn't even use half the quart. The coverage was very good. I was painting peppercorn over a dark navy and I only did a second coat because I had a lot of paint left, it didn't take long and that's what I always do. Not sure I saw a difference and I didn't see any reason to pay more than the cashmere when we bought paint for the next room.

I'm also trying to pick a basement color. I have sampled macadamia, softer tan, blonde, believeable buff and more. Those colors all look blah and kinda muddy in the basement, except for blonde which is way too yellow. I think we're going to go with Austere Gray. It's a beautiful shade and really brightens up the basement.

I have blonde in my family room, but it gets plenty of light so it doesn't look very yellow there. And I have believable buff throughout my foyer & hallways as my neutral shade. It looks really nice w/ quietude (a blue shade) in my living & dining.
I'm leaning toward nomadic desert for the basement. But hubby likes macadamia, which I think has too much green undertone. That killim beige color is apparently really popular, but it seems blah to me like soft tan.

I am also considering nomadic desert for the basement. we will either go with that or austere gray.

I have nomadic desert in my formal areas and love it. For the less formal areas i used a custom mixture of kilim beige and nomadic desert. Its great but my room has a lot of light. This is the custom color
