How many drawers are too many drawers?
Comments (61)Beth, I know what you mean about the hinged door on a super susan. I don't know if I would care for that either - even though I don't have a problem with the hinged doors on my easy-reach uppers. But I don't think I've ever seen a super susan with doors that rotate around with the tray. I had two lazy susans with rotating door, and I hated them. There wasn't a lot of room, and on the one on which I put a crock pot and a couple of other heavier things, the shelves eventually slipped on the pole, and had to be readjusted (every year or so). I went with an unpopular solution here on GW - I angled the base cabinet, and put in a full super susan. My kitchen is custom, so I was also able to put a drawer above. Since my kitchen doesn't have room for a lot of drawers, I wanted all I could get! My Susan holds lots of small appliances, colanders (it's near the sink), and I can tuck small, hardly-used things back on the shelf, behind the turntables It's one of my favorite things about my new kitchen. sorry about the sideways - I can't get it to post straight on a Mac....See More3 pendants too many for this island?
Comments (16)I’m not sure how using one pendant over the island and repeating it over my 42” diameter round kitchen table would look. What type and size fixture would you suggest over a rectangular island as well as round table? I thought the width of a light fixture should be 1/2 to 2/3 the diameter of the table-wouldn’t that make the single light fixture too bulky above my 2 1/2’ deep island?...See MoreAre 3 ovens too many?
Comments (8)without seeing the actual kitchen, it is difficult to say if it looks strange. If I was a buyer viewing your home, I might think the previous owner had a catering home baking business- a real chef's kitchen. I don't see 3-ovens as a drawback, but a. holiday bonus. When we bought our house, the previous owner -a chiropractor- was present during our home inspection. He tried to convince us that gas stoves always smell like gas (aka leak gas) when the oven is running- what a stupid deceitful pompous A.H.!...See MoreOven overkill? Wall ovens+steam oven+rangetop too much?
Comments (27)Not sure if you’re still looking for feeedback, but just in case, about 18 months ago I renovated my kitchen and went with a Hestan 36” rangetop (5 burner/no griddle), and double Miele wall ovens - Combi Steam XL (plumbed) and convection (also plumbed - burst of moisture feature). Also ended up with a Sub-Zero PRO36G refrigerator. Blew the budget for sure, but couldn’t be happier with these choices. Amazing appliances, all of them. The Hestan rangetop is absolutely awesome to cook on. I never thought I’d see myself with a closed burner system, but with Hestan, you get the best of both worlds. Amazing power, the gentlest of gentle simmers (that hold), and so much easier to clean. Anyway, let mee know if you have any questions. I’ll post a few photos also in case you’re interested in how any of these look....See Moresjhockeyfan325
