for those of you with a Blanco Silgranite Anthracite Sink

Could you tell me if that is matte black? Could you describe the color to me the best you can? I received a Kohler Vinnata Faucet in Oil Rubbed Bronze (which is very dark-almost a black) and got the disposal flange and strainer to match and got an Insinkerator hot water dispenser in the ORB to. These two colors are a little off (the hot water dispenser is a little more brown) but I am very concerned that I am throwing a whole new color of black into the whole thing with this sink. There will be granite splitting it up but still? Thanks!!

Without using a photo, which could vary the color perception, I'd describe mine as: Slightly sparkly matte charcoal black. The is zero brown warmth to it, which is why I wanted it but you may feel otherwise. It really looks a lot like the cast iron grates on my gas cook top.

Really your decision should include the granite color as well. Don't forget there is a brown color available as well. Personally, I think a lot of dark color near- mismatches would be more discernable than if you chose a sink that was more differentiated from your dark accessories to set them apart.

It's exactly as nalcar describes---"matte charcoal black" with little sparkles. Looks a little darker when it's wet, but it's the color of charcoal when it's dry.

IMO the granite color is more important to tie into since the sink and countertop kind of "share a plane" visually. The cafe brown is a gorgeous color choice if your granite is in the brown/cream tones. FYI-somone mentioned on another post that you can request color samples from Blanco.

I also have the Silgranit anthracite sink and I would NEVER go back to SS. This is much easier to keep clean, drains better, doesn't bang and clang, and I love the drainer ledge (I have the BlancoPerforma super single). I bought mine at homeperfect.com and would recommend them.

I'm sure someone else will have a more exhaustive list, but for me the selling features are more room under the sink since plumbing is to one side plus you can put pot/pans/dishes int the sink without blocking the drain. ctycdm, I have heard of Dawn for many years, but only since I've been lurking on these forums have I learned that it is apparently better than most dish soaps. I plan to use it in my soap pump when I have my sink installed, so your comment is helpful.

We have Blanco Silgranit I was extremely happy with it. Then I discovered that my dear DH was cooking in the night(he's a night owl) and put some boiling hot pan right off the stove in it. It left light discoloration (hardly visible to tell the truth..seen only in certain light, much like etching..still I was very mad). I bought a special product Blanco holds for deep cleaning/dealing with similar issues. A quite expensive one at that too. It didn't help much. Helped some. Now I got used to this tiny discoloration and notice it less..after all I'm very lucky I get tremendous help with cooking (cooking is one of the hardest chores for me mowadays) So. I'd still say it's a lovely sink(we have it in very forgiving color too, taupe-ish color..not white or black..)..but it won't handle certain things. Be mindful of that. I myself would never risk putting hot iron on top of it (as I wouldn't with almost any surface) , but then I'm more careful around stuff. Boiling water-no problem at all. It's usually easy to clean and if not for that hiccup I'd consider it the best sink I ever owned/had. But every material has ts limitations, one just needs to be aware of them.

If you want to see a very close replica of what they look like, just go to Home Depot. The carry a composite sink which is boxed under their house brand but is made by Blanco for them.

buzzy, I have mine with an ORB faucet and really like the combination. Usually I'd be concerned with pairing black and brown together but honestly, it never crossed my mind that they wouldn't match. But my ubatuba granite has lots of black and gold and silvery sparkles in it that tie it all together. And my faucet is a Moen which, I think, is lighter than the Kohler ORB. What is your countertop going to be?

I've had my black Blanco Silgranit sink for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it! I get lots of compliments on it but really for me , I like how it sort of disappears and doesn't jump out like my old SS sink did. We have cream cabs with an applied stain so I might have gone with an apron front bisque look but I really wanted a granite with black in it and this sink was just the perfect choice. I love how deep it is too. The Expo store in our area had a lot of Silgranit color choices so maybe you can check one out in person and take your item with you?

I have already ordered the black Silgranite Sink so at this point I can't go with the Blanco brown, but I will be going to Home Depot to look at their brand tomorrow. The tough part is going to be matching the sink, the faucet and the tough one is the Sinkerator Hot water dispenser. Getting all those blacks to work is going to be huge. I like the ORB in Moen but it is very brown and the hot water dispenser is not even close. The only other option is to change everything to Matte black but the sink seems to have a little more charcoal so even that is not going to be a hit. Maybe I should go with stainless on the faucet ect but it is the only stainless in the kitchen and I have ORB hardware (a dark ORB instead of an brown ORB). I am driving everyone crazy here at the homefront as I have ordered 3 faucets so far and I have to have this done for the granite templete next week...thanks for the help!

I am going to Hd to look at the sink and order the Insinkerator dispenser in black and hopefully it will look better than the ORB does with the ORB faucet. I wish manufactures had standard colors......

Buzzy, my granite is 'J. capella', quite similar to yours. Went with the cafe brown sink, but I think the black works too, since there's plenty of both in that stone.

If you really, really like the brown, you might consider returning your ordered black, paying the re-stock fee, and getting what you like. Throughout my build, I've been willing to spend a couple bucks more if I suspected I'd regret the cheaper choice down the road.

For my bev sink, I used a tiny stainless handwashing sink, and a satin nickle faucet. I suppose it would be nice if it matched the big sink, but that just wasn't possible. There aren't many 'eye lines' where you see them at the same time though, so I don't feel it matters much. I considered matching the faucet, but an ORB faucet over a brushed stainless sink just seemed wrong to me.
