BM waterborne Impervo or BM Regal SG for cabinets?
Comments (1)I think you are right. Usually what I do when I need a semi gloss is use Aura or go somewhere other than Benjamin Moore. Satin Impervo is okay but their semi-gloss is just bad. It may be more durable, but applying the actual paint itself is not fun and this is coming from a painter. I can't pour enough extender into that paint to make it flow....See MoreBM Satin Impervo or SW Proclassic Latex Enamel for trim
Comments (4)I'm also reading that Proclassic semi-gloss is pretty close to Satin Impervo in sheen, and Proclassic satin is pretty flat, anyone know if that's that true? If I get the Proclassic, I'm wondering if I should get semi-gloss instead of satin. I can't actually find a paint store around here that has the Satin Impervo, so that may not be an option....See MorePainting kitchen cabinets: BM Satin Impervo vs. BM Advance
Comments (17)Kenzie you have the perfect kitchen for hand-painting kitchen cabinets. You are going to be amazed at the improvement if you follow Christopher's directions. Just don't skip any steps and take your time :). You will see a little grain since your cabinets are oak, but that helps eliminate the look of brush marks also. I am one of those people who don't mind seeing the grain of oak - at least they look like real wood. I have one question for Christoper: How does the BM Impervo and Advance compare to SW Pro-Classic as far as ease of applying?? My reason for asking is that I have used the Pro-Classic on a vanity and was very impressed with the quality of the finished product - just would like to know for future projects....See MoreHints to deepen Classic Burgundy BM Satin Impervo
Comments (7)Following my dad's advice (he's an old hardware man who's done his share of mixing paint), I bought some black, oil-based paint and started mixing little bits at a time into a small amount of the burgundy. As I added black, I painted patches onto my test board...from the bright to darker. About the time it was done and dry, I also came across a sample of Ralph Lauren's Picture Gallery Red. I would never have guessed from the little square, but when matched up, it seemed to match one of my favorite darkened patches. So today I took the paint chip, had it color matched, and made into Satin Impervo. The first coat looks quite promising. (I don't have the can in front of me, but the mix was mostly magenta, some black, some red oxide, and some kind of white...I argued against the white, but the mixing guy insisted it was needed for balance and wouldn't muddy the color, as I feared. He was right.) Thanks for your time and help....See Morepaintguy22
