LOL It's been a busy day...

This is what's going on so far in my kitchen..

Dehydrator full of apple chips.

Bread machine making roll dough for dinner.

Applesauce I made a few days back, milled, sweetend with a little bit of Agave and cinnamon. Put into "kids" size containers for the freezer.

Chicken breasts cut in half and soaking in salt brine. Will become Corn Flake Crusted Baked Chicken for dinner.

Chicken thighs waiting for me to find a recipe I saw earlier to premake chicken taco meat in the crock pot.

AnnT's Pear Walnut Cake recipe on the counter waiting for me to double it and bake..

which reminds me..I have a loaf of Whole Wheat Spice Apple Cake in the oven too...

Phew...Did I miss anything? Oh load of laundry in the dryer, one on the couch to fold..Oh and shipping label printed and put on box for pick up....

About an hour until the first boy brigade gets off the bus..

Tomorrow is my off Island shopping day. So I jam packed kitchen time in today, and yesterday was cleaning day..Steam cleaned most of the house! LOL

thank you everyone! yesterday was my birthday (the big 3-6) and i felt really blessed to have her little one week old self in my arms! re: the soapstone sink...i know everyone thinks soapstone is soft...but i will wait a little while before i set her in such hard places. today she gets a sponge bath on my bead ;) re: my tummy.....yes, my fundus has been contracting (owwie) but i still have an awful looking, varicose vein snaking up the back of my leg, so i think i automatically forfeit any "hot mom" status---thank god! re: induction....after putting many pieces together, i think my water was leaking for a month. i also know a few moms who delivered about a week after their water broke--naturally--with only positive results. at that moment though, i needed to follow the policies of our midwives' practice or i would have been without a health care provider for the big moment. well, other than my nurse husband who had no intention of assisting me solo! :) i really appreciate all the sweetness. hope everyone had a great holiday season. and hope i can speed up my one key peck so i can nurse and participate on the forum instead of just lurking. oh--and thank you to the lurkers who posted! i feel honored! xoxoxo

Kids are home this week. So am I. ;o) I subbed the last 12 school days in a row before break. And the house looked like it! We did get a lot done yesterday, though. Today DD had gymnastics practice and I picked up/dropped off a teammate. So, time-wise, that running around was the biggest chunk of my day, with no real results to show for it. In between, I went to BJs wholesale club to stock up on some regular stuff. Took it home, put it away, made the boys lunch. Rotated laundry. Went back for the girls at the gym, watched for an hour (it's a 3-1/2 hour practice). I have also read 2 lessons of my online class (I'm behind, I have 4 more to go today to be caught up). Just checking in here before I leave the computer for now. I'll go by the laundry room and rotate more laundry, then down to the kitchen to load dishwasher and start dinner (I don't know what yet). The boys' practices are cancelled today because it went and SNOWED! OK, just flurries, but it's cold and wet... this is supposed to be SPRING break! I am also going to make some afternoon coffee.

My goodness, we needed this. You guys are incredible. Look at all those things you do every day you don't even recognize! Pollying, Painting, vacuuming, caring, choosing, stocking, washing, (stop me) all without losing your sanity for falling over dead. Of exhaustion, I mean, right? Today I went to get a new social security card. Unfortunately they moved without notifying me. The NERVE. So, what's a girl to do? [Gimme a Hell YA!"] Go thrifting. Visited H4H in Riverdale (MD) and the antique/2nd hand/junk store next to it. They also took a break and didn't notify me. The sign said to come back later, but NO, this chick's on a roll! Off to Baltimore (MD) I charged. 2nd Chance, here I come. Oh, my are they putting in new furniture all the time. No Orphan beaded inset cabinets, so I passed on that. I did find some side lights to accompany my other side lights I picked up before. I'm going to make closet doors out of them. Way cool. I also couldn't resist a pair of 30" doors with horizontal grids on their glass. They're gonna need some work, but that's just fine. What am I going to do with them? I have no idea if I tell you I'll have to kill you. Picked up a face frame delivery from [drum roll] Brian and The Cabinet Joint.com. I am SO psyched about this. Beaded inset, of course. Met with a Garden Web Mid-Atlantic Gardening member who is going to lease an acre of my land (A whopping $100 a year for water) to grow ... PEONIES! She is opening a nursery needs a place to grow them. PEONIES! Managed not to spend my Multi-purpose Fred's drywall money. My MBR looks great with all skim coated drywall. I am Hap-peeeee! Now, I'm gonna take a nap. I should mow the lawn, since I never go to it, but it's gonna be there when I decide to hack it down.

A new week. What I accomplished today

Linelle, you still have a guest bath! It's just that you're in to that rustic look and have strategically placed yours in the drive. Easily accessible. Industrial. Cool.... (You buyin' that?) Yesterday I didn't do much but I did move and organize more crap out of my MBR in preparation for the final drywall coat. I'm thinking tomorrow I might go and buy paint. I am choosing Glidden (I think it is) Natural Wicker for the walls, and 50% lighter for the ceiling. I'm thinking 75% lighter for any trim I end up putting up. Monochromatic, but so different because of the shading. I'm going to need 5 gallon buckets of this stuff, so thank goodness for DirectBuy and Sherwin Williams! Yeah! I went to work. (Accomplishment!) Today I am completing the (re)organization of the crap I moved out of the MBR and into now 3 other rooms. No reason to have so much clutter when I can stack much of it to the ceiling in the den and close those gorgeous pocket doors I reclaimed! :) Oh --- the guys are here to remove and hopefully replace 2 of my solar panels. Somehow, despite a lack of trees or anything that could have landed on them, two of them have turned up to be smashed concave. We have no explanation and no, it wasn't snow. I don't have a power bill right now, but that could change based upon this winter's huge bills, averaging, how little I use these warm weather seasons, and the panels themselves, Obviously. Called around because my wonderful dog, Morgan, needs an ultrasound. She had her spring shave and her tummy is very distended on one side. I wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't been shaved. She's not in any pain, eating like the little pig she is, and seems just fine. It's impeding her gait a little, though, so I'm worried. She's also between 12 and 14 years old, so we don't know.... wish us the best! Oh - lowest ultrasound in the Annapolis/southern Maryland pricing? INCLUDING the office visit? Like you could get one without the other, right? $425. Soapstone, you're just gonna have to wait. In the meanwhile, here's a picture of my panels and the solar water system on their installation day in 2006. Like many hillbillies, I used to keep my fridge on the back porch. I just realized I don't have a newer picture of the porch area. Mucho different now. :) That dog is Duke, who turned out to be my ex-POC-GC-DH's girlfriend's dog and I never knew. Does it ever end? Sounds like you've got it covered. What are you having with the chicken tonight??

Today I'm at work, but yesterday (I was on "vacation")....
Up at 6:30.
Cats fed, let chickens out.
Load of laundry.
Out with hubby to mark post holes for fence.
Neighbor out walking, visited for 1/2 hour.
Walked down to check out other (new) neighbor's who had a FREE bucket of fence parts.
Met new neighbors, talked for at least 1/2 hour!
Back to work on fence.
Locator for utilities shows up.
Watch him mark phone/cable lines, then tell us the electric guy who was there the day before is in the wrong place.
Calls electric company. Some guys from elec. co. in the area show up.
Original guy needs to come back.
We decided to quit for the day until we know where the lines are (already moved 5 due to electric location).
Picked up tools, headed back to the house.
Electric guy shows up.
Says his marks are right. SIGH!!!
Make dinner.
Watch the debate.
Wash and freeze 2+ gallons of tomatoes for making sauce later.
Gather eggs.
Bed.

Even with all of that, I'd rather be home, than here!!
Most of my days are 'manic', Jim. I just don't have the depressive ones!! My DH calls me Rocky the Flying Squirrel. (grin)

Jim, nope..I may get flitty..and definatly multitask..but depressed..NOPE..no reason..

It's just that I finally feel like a SAHM again..and I have things to do..and I didn't want to put apples and pears into the compost heap, because I couldn't get to them.

I like to take care of my family from the kitchen.
Shelley and Linda..I did alot of computer crusing too..So I had plenty of "down" time...sittin on my arse..LOL

Deanna, I'm making corn flake crusted baked chicken with cheesy au gratin potatoes, dinner rolls and broccoli for dinner tonight. (I also shaped some of the dough into 4 hoagie size rolls, to be put in the freezer to be added to, for another meal next week.)
The little B/S Chicken thighs will be shredded and them and their sauce will go in the freezer to be put into a tortilla cassersole next week.

Terri, it sounds like a perfectly wonderful day to me. I spent mine sitting in my "dungeon" watching four cement block walls for 10 hours, just like most days. When it drives me completely nuts and I need a break, I come here and wish I were baking something.

Of course, my girls are grown, so being a SAHM would be much more peaceful than you being a SAHM. LOLOLOL

Actually, I'd like to be a stay at home farmer, just spend the day fixing fence and working in the garden, feeding my cattle and shoveling....whatever needs to be shoveled. :-)
