Slow Cooker White Chocolate Bread Pudding

I have never made bread pudding before and wish to try the following recipe on Saturday:

6 cups French bread cubes

1 package (6 oz) white chocolate baking bar, coarsely chopped

1 cup fat-free egg product

3/4 cup warm water

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)


1. Spray inside of 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place bread cubes in slow cooker. Sprinkle with baking bar.

2. In small bowl, mix remaining ingredients; pour over bread cubes and baking bar.

3. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm.

The main reason I want to do the crock pot thing is we are going to be gone most of Friday and Saturday but told my husband I would have this for him for Saturday night dessert. I'm wondering if I can put all this in the slow cooker on Friday morning before we leave and then put it on in time to cook for Saturday night. Will it be mush? Should I just do it another time when it won't be resting in the fridge over night like that?
