I will be working in my kitchen. It is chilly out, only 32 and will be cool for some days to come so, I am going to make chili soup. I am also baking pies and a sweet potato casserole to take to tomorrow's church dinner. Have a great day everyone.

To market, to market, jiggity jig! Today is Grocery shopping day since Saturday we had storms. The 'once a month after the retirement checks come' shopping day. And laundry day, since I ran out of laundry detergent last week and it is pilin' up!

Every day is Saturday since I stopped working. Well, that's not entirely true. Saturday and Sunday are the days I try to stay home since it's so crowded everywhere.

Today I am making a new mushroom soup recipe in the slow cooker. I am also determined to get some house work done as my place is a mess. I thought if I was home during the dya I would be able to keep up with things but the truth is that I am home all day making messes!

Oh yes, I plan to paint a window sill that was damaged by a leak.

I also have to sign up for Medicare. Yikes.

I agree with Dedtired. Since I'm retired, I try to stay home Saturday and Sunday and do my errands during the week. I have always hated crowds and lines.

Since I'm retired, I too try to stay home on the weekends. And I try to not run errands or go out to lunch at noon. It's hard enough for work people to go through a line or find a table at 'lunchtime', so I don't want them to have to wait on me when I can go earlier/later.

Mary, Mary how does your garden grow......with lots of weeds and worms and thingies that need trimmin, so that's where we are headed this cold, clear, sunny morning..... 46 deg. heading up to 60, hope, hope,hope.

So far I am having my doubts about this soup, but I will give it more time. I still have to add wine and cream, so that should make a big difference. If it's good, I'll report back.

I have not cleaned, painted or signed up for Medicare and it is 4:15. I did have a friend over for a couple hours, which I enjoyed.

It is always worth stopping for a friend visit.

I am going to try a few shopping errands. Need to get ready for DD and cutie grandsons' visit early Tuesday. Grandma needs to make some kind of goodies. Hmmm, Rice Crispie treats would be good. Or a cake? Or Grandpa's favorite cookies? The 2 year old doesn't like sweets yet, and so it's pretzels and crackers that keep him happy. But the rest of us do like sweet treats.

Well, I am back. Been back for a while. After work my riding buddies showed up here, and we did a 20 miler.

Just hanging out now, being lazy.

I did nothing today...well, I laid on the floor in front of the wood stove and then I played on the computer, um...yeah, that about sums it up.

I'm not retired but I try to do my running around during the week too, as there's less traffic and shorter lines, much easier to do things on the weekend than during the week.

we had bday breakfast for dh and sil out. soccer game and home...dinner at home provided by ds2 and dil...dh was in 7th heaven..dil made his fave cake pineapple upsidedown...
