Tom Hanks was on Jimmy Kimmels show and they showed a video he did with his 6 year old daughter about the TV show "Toddlers & Tiaras". Absolutley hysterical.. Go to YouTube and type in Tom Hanks Toddlers and Tiaras...then sit back and laugh.

Wasn't it hilarious Casey...made my day. I have watched that ridiculous show and that is what sent me over the edge.

I love how they make biochar, it's an open-pit, burn stuff in there, then STOP the burning process by throwing dirt & water on top. Half-burnt stuff is less alkaline that ashes, which is extremely caustic to plants with pH over 12. I got some ashes from a fireplace, and had to wash my hands immediately, it's caustic to my skin. eHow described it as: " Use a shovel to cover the burning plant material with about 1 inch of soil when you see the smoke is grayish-blue. This layer slows the burning material to smoldering by reducing the oxygen and creates the charcoal. Douse the smoldering fire with water when you see the plant material has turned into charcoal chunks. Completely douse and put out the fire at this point. Allowing the plant material to continue burning will turn it into ash, defeating the purpose of introducing biochar into your soil. Amend your garden soil using the biochar and compost. That was hilarious. The sad thing is I actually know a lady who thinks those sexy little girl pageants are "cute". I just shake my head and say thank you, God, that her own daughter is too old to be entered in any of them.

Just terrific. I'm a big Tom Hanks fan, but not a fan of Toddlers & Tiaras! He and his daughter must have had a lot of fun putting that together.

I loved it -- his daughter is a pretty little thing.

I think that show is child abuse, pure and simple,
and those crazy women belong in jail.

But... you know ---- IMHO!

Besides enjoying the video, I was struck by the fact that many of today's six-year-olds are quite familiar with the term "sexy," thanks to the culture of the day.

Looking back, I don't think my own kids (the youngest is 32), raised in the country with limited access to TV, would have known anything about the word at that age. Of course, they learned quickly once they got further into school.....

That was *hysterical*. Thanks for posting that.

Hubby and I were in Chicago a few months ago and there was a "Little Miss Beauty Pageant" going on in the hotel. There were swarms of these little girls dressed up in very inappropriate outfits. I really found it to be very, very sad.

Those little girls did not look like happy kids to me.

That was pretty funny. I love Tom Hanks in anything he does. FYI though, the little girl is not his daughter, she's an actress.

I enjoyed the clip. I couldn't ignore the irony of that little girl being an actress. From what i've read about child actors, the parents can be pretty nutso in that too.

Too bad I didn't see this a few days earlier. My kids were looking for a skit idea. I think they could have done a cute parody of this.

What kind of a society are we living in that thinks it is just great to see how sexy we can make a six year old girl?
In the Tom Hanks skit, right before the little girl leaves the stage she shouts out, "Talk dirty to me!" It was just on Oprah today. The audience of mostly women applauded and laughed. Maybe I am living in a dream world, but I think this is appalling.

Saw it on Oprah yesterday...what a hoot! That entire show was full of laughs with Hanks and Julia Roberts. LOL
