Heavy bodied paint + sprayer...

Paint is Miller Evolution ceiling paint with ceramic and ti oxides. Sprayer is capable of .54 gal/min @ 3000psi. We had settled on a 517 tip with nice results with no back-roll, pressure @ 2800+ psi.

After half the house and several five gallon buckets of material we are seeing a pattern like a "blotchy plaid" after the product dries. Reducing pressure even a couple hundred psi creates fingers in the pattern. The machine is basically maxed on pressure showing 2800-3000psi., so no going up. The sprayer is commerical duty with a digital readout.

My thoughts are that something has changed, maybe the batches of material. The tip was new and the home's interior is a constant 65 deg. My intent is to try a new 417 tip in the morning and change up on the spray pattern direction. The 417 should hopefully get me back down from the sprayer running near max pressure.

Any thoughts or experience?
