BM Aura paint AND primer in a shower area?

I've read that you don't need a primer with this paint.

HOWEVER...

My bathroom was painted several years ago with BM Eggshell Aquavelvet. The ceiling and wall area above the tile in the shower area is now showing signs of flaking/peeling from the moisture.

I picked up some Aura paint, never used this before. Given that this is a shower area, I was wondering if it would be beneficial to prime this area first, and then paint with Aura???

If so, should I be looking for a specific primer for this area?
