Excited about paper find

While cruising Michael's today I went down the party bag aisle. I found great Kraft GOLD bags. (the lunch bag type) these are so great. 12 to a package - 5 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 10 1/4

There is no seam in the back like most lunch bags. They are a beautiful DULL gold, just perfect for my backgrounds on my cards. I figure(depending on the card) I could get 2 to 4 out of each bag.

The sign said $2.99 So I thought I'd use my 40% off on that since I couldn't find anything in the store I wanted. It rang up 1.25 and 40% off of that. I told the cashier to hold on and went and got 3 more packs. One of the packs rang up3.87 but it was a different brand so we took that off and she rang the others up at the lower price.

Just passing it on.

I would be excited too. I paid 6.50 for 10 small 6x6 sheets at a scrapbooking store.

Does sound like a good find; better even than the $ store! I check out bags sometimes for their card-making potential. I'll bet yours would even go through the printer (if you cut them first)! ;-)

What a find! Hard to believe someone would actually throw that away! But I'm sure happy for you that they did. Our dump doesn't allow anyone to take anything. What a shame since so much could be salvaged or recycled. But apparently they are afraid of lawsuits if someone gets hurt. I think dumps should have a section for 'good' stuff to put aside and let folks have it. But then we can't even curb shop here as you can't put anything out there. :o( I think Phoenix must hate recycling!! How dumb is that. hugs, Karen

Send some juju my way. My Meyer lemon did great the first 1.5 years, nice big lemons then for the last 1.5 years nothing. Other citrus nearby bears but not a lot even though I fertilize. My two best citrus (Honeybell and Key Lime) were purchased from professional nurseries and they are bearing well. Hmmm.

Allison, I love your laundry room! I wish I had a bigger laundry room but just having one across from my bedroom and not in a tiny little closet and not having to go to the laundry mat is one of the nice features that sold me on the townhouse I bought a little less than 11 years ago. Where are your hampers? I just love your taste of knowing where everything should be in a room to create rooms with both class and beauty. I just bought two white wicker hampers with two compartments at Fran's Wicker & Rattan Furniture Store and were amazed at the just about no smell. They have velcro cotton drawstring bags inside and are very well sealed. I aired them out for a week so they will have no smell at all. I am glad I went with such pretty hampers that were reasonably priced for the quality. Now I have to take the suggestions I got from others on making the rest of the room nice when I have time.

I wanted to mention that I went back and got bags in silver and in black for future use.

I found some large size dinner napkins at Hobby Lobby 2/3 off sale today in gold and dull silver. orig price 2.44 I'm going to see if they will act like mulberry paper and tear nice.
Boy, it sounds like I'm actually going to make something.

ROTFL!! I know what you mean. Makes me feel so productive to get the materials for something; as if I were half done already!
(So I posted a "challenge" of sorts as another thread...)

BTW, Min, you reminded me of a vellum-look bag I bought on clearance last year... Hmmm.... what to do with that....?
