The Cabinet Face, custom doors for IKEA cabinets?
Comments (15)I have looked at several options, not at thrilled with any of them. Semihandmade does not offer a lot of choices and the quality is surprisingly poor in my opinion, also bad customer service reviews. Kokeena looks beautiful but seemed very $$$ did not even request samples I mean what's the point? Architectural Digest I am not. Scherr's found website confusing and disorganized, not sure I ever found the doors online and did not really want to! Then somehow I happened upon The Cabinet Face and was, like, FINALLY!!!!!! I am still in the planning phase but if this company is at good as it looks, I will definitely work them. They seem to have several options, but not too many, including wood veneers and glass doors. And best of all (gasp) their pricing structure is refreshingly transparent. This was a welcomed first. It really helps to know when making these decisions roughly what painting versus MDF etc costs; there's even a cost comparison estimate with all styles compared to Ringhult. Again, just enough enough information. I don't want to buy from a company that isn't transparent. What's the point? It should be the quality of one's experience that brings customers back....See MoreHas anyone stacked IKEA's 15'' and 20'' wall cabinets??
Comments (11)Tihun If you really have 8' ceilings like you originally posted, your ceilings would be 96" Somewhere else you say you have 92" Which is it? Beverly, and others, could the OP lower the uppers to 16" rather than the recommended 18"? I'm not a coffee drinker, but I would think if it would solve a huge kitchen layout problem, a person could get a shorter coffee maker. I just glanced at some, and the tallest one I saw was 15". There were others in the 12" range....See MoreHas anyone installed an Ikea Medelniva microwave with Sektion cabinet?
Comments (8)"I've had two of the GE 3160 microwaves fail in the last 6 years, with the same issue: it blows the breaker box fuse if you open the door anytime while the microwave is running." I read that the easiest way to make a microwave oven last is to pause the cooking before opening the door....See MoreHas anyone installed Ikea Sektion cabinets hutch style?
Comments (10)I think it's possible (but not ideal) to put the cabinets directly on the counter and address the door clearance by adjusting the hinges so that the doors sit a bit higher. I think using a cover panel as a spacer would be best - I can't remember their exact thickness, but it's a tad under 3/4". Get one that matches the doors and it'll look like a piece of trim. Also, definitely pop the doors on the cabinets and see if it works as is! They're very easy to take off once you test it out....See Moremahatmacat1
