In the Gallery my 2002 card

This is not my usual style and have to make some cutesy ones too. For some reason I had to do this card this way. First I stamped a lot of the images on vellum and planned to use them but they just didn't work out. I had thought of using blue but blue is not a Christmas color for me.

Inside is a big "Peace on Earth" embossed in gold.

I'd never stamped on mulberry paper before but it took it and the embossing pretty well.

thank you. I'm going to get some more mulberry paper and try it on a reddish background. Usually my cards are snowmen or santas etc. I got this stamp last year from Stampin' Up and it's just been sitting around doing nothing.

A separate card reader that plugs into USB would be a good test actually. You can get them for cheap on Amazon, Newegg, and Ebay. [ If you're really thinking about buying another computer, I was going to say you might want to wait for Windows 10, as it will no doubt be an improvement over the confusing interface of Win 8. (The version name of Windows 9 is going to be skipped) But that is reportedly not going to be released until late 2015 . So I'd make sure I was at least getting a free upgrade to Win 10 when it arrives. ]

golddust, what a fantastic story. You've had some rough spots in your life, but sounds like you received enough loving support to make them strengthening ones. Thanks for letting us in on your wonderful uncle. Thank you for sharing that beautiful card. I just recently cleaned out one of my coffee table drawers and found a bunch of playing cards that I saved to use for collages and whatnot. Now I think I'll make some cards for my friends at work with them. Great idea!

Minnie- that is a lovely, elegant card! I'm interested in the gold paper...was that something you got from stampin up? I love its crinkly texture!

Minnie, your card is beautiful; very elegant. I (stupid me), didn't even realize you could print on mulberry paper. I'll have to try it. I just printed for the first time on velum & then embossed on it this a.m. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card!

I haven't seen any stamping on Mulberry before. I knew I wanted the paper but tried to use a vellum on top and that didn't look right so I just tried it out. I was happy with how it turned out. The crinkled paper I got in package of Decorative papers by Black Ink from Michael's. I think there was only one sheet in the pack.
I did have some other very nice gold papers which I used on some of the cards. I also got some gold tissue that has dull/shiny surface from the tissue area at Michael's. I cut it to the size I wanted and then crumpled it up into a tight ball in my hand and then spread it out flattening it. I used the same techniques on cards a couple of years ago.

Love your card, Minnie!

I have some of that crinkly gold that came in a Black Ink pack. I'd love to find a pkg with only the gold. It's so soft, almost like fabric. Great idea 'bout the tissue paper!

I've tried stamping on mulberry, but never the embossing. Thanks for letting us know we can! :-D

Thanks everyone. I hope somebody got some good ideas from it. I got some green mulberry today and am going to try it on the red card stock . I looked for all gold in those packs but couldn't find it. I'm going to look over at Hobby Lobby next they have different papers in different areas of the store. Some in Scrapbooking and stamps and some over by the area where they have the photo stuff.
As far as crinkling up paper to use. Smell it first. I got some last year that was a beautiful wrapping paper but it smelled so metallic I couldn't use it.
