Hi Cathy and other embroiderers - I have tried embroidery on greeting cards a few times. The effect is stunning and certainly different from most other cards I make. But golly, did my fingers get sore poking all those holes! What do you use to make the holes? (I was using a large needle.)

I have a similar model. You just have to play with it to figure out the margins. The orange "thingy" has the blade. Move it to one end or the other. The ruler-looking part lifts up, allowing you to insert your paper. Adjust the paper, and slide the blade piece across to the opposite end. It does take a few practices. The blade is quite sharp, and remains so fthrough any slices. And, it is easily replaced! I hope you end up enjoying your per cutter.

The last time we did a exchange we got to know our partner and found out what type of things they like, colors or size of the ornament helps too. Then you send one you think she will like and you can also send one you like yourself. It's up to you. You can make or buy the ornaments. Set a price of $5.00 or less, or more if you desire. Madwoman, you are a gramma after my own heart!!To be honest, I think the basic paper making kit you can buy at Michael's is the way to go. And I've always said paper making is the very best way to recycle your junk mail. Just last month, I taught a "gourd guts" paper making class at a gourd show. Yes, you can use almost any organic material, but I would put a few drops of an antibacterial soap in the tub if that material is still green (as opposed to "dried" flowers, etc.) And if you don't have liquid starch to keep inks or paints from bleeding, the same amount of white glue will do.
