Andy, I get at least two and sometimes even three flushes from my cycads (Zone 5). What I do is keep them in a BRIGHT, and REALLY hot spot and give it drowning watering every two days. But the most important thing is that I throw a hand full of cow manure onto them. The manure is almost a jump start as literally a couple days after applying, I get a new flush. BTW, this seems to work well with the Revoluta / Taitungensis Hybrid from Robert Chumley also. The manure seems to instantly push new flushes.

"We told them to make sure they used the booster seat and the Grandma said it was ridiculous that we were making him sit in a booster seat at his age, plus they didn't like the booster seat pressing into their leather seats in the car." 1) My daughter, age 6, is 39" tall and 38.3 pounds. She is tiny. It runs in the family. The carseat she came home from the hospital in is still her backup seat. It goes up to 80lbs. Here in CA a child must be in a seat until age 6 or 60lbs. Well, at age 6 she's no where near that weight, so she's still in the car seat. Not tall enough yet for the booster. And yes, I make sure everyone who drives her knows the rules (plus, she can see better from the extra heigth the booster gives her). 2) I had leather seats in my car, I put a fluffy beach towel down first and there were no issues with the leather. "they were not going to come to a Thanksgiving dinner celebration called a "peasant potluck", so they didn't come." Their loss. Sounds like fun to me! And a lot more like the first Thanksgiving would have been. Sounds like they missed the point. That being said, even though we only have one side of the story, it sounds to me that you are justified in feeling angry, hurt, and unwelcome. Now what do you do? I think Colleen and Rob said it best. Let your husband handle it and be supportive. Let the kids know it's ok to love their grandparents and want to see them. Enable the family to come together, but don't be the instigator. Stick to your guns, only you know what is healthy for your family, and I wish you the best.

fallingwaters; first of all, know that your you and your dh, and his hea lth care prov iders are in my prayers. Your priorities are in the right place, although I know there is some disappointment after getting so much in place for the renovation. I, too, put off my kitchen for a year. My MIL fractured her hip and was having repeated complications, my husbands workload increased at work and by being the primary healthcare surrogate for his mom. I sensed that just having the stress of ripping out the kitchen -- but also of not HAVING a functional kitchen, was a bit more than our family could deal with. My kitchen is a place of respite, even if in it's current state it isn't perfect. My experience has been like needssometips and jreuter. I saved up some more $$. I'm not putting that extra into the kitchen, but it is giving us a bit more of a cushion. 2. I've gotten just about every wee decision made, down to the gar bage di sposal, and what I'm lining the drawers with. Except for the darn faucet. Still trying to figure it out. In the next few months as you go thru this with your husband, there will likely be times when you feel out of control. Looking at pulls and such and making a few decisions unrelated to the health aspects may help you get a feeling of control back. And in the middle of the night, when you can't sleep, no doubt someone has posted a tittilating post (I know that isn't spelled right) that may take your mind off the stressors for a few minutes.

I'd get a dog. It's easier to housebreak a dog than toilet train a toddler. Those pictures are cute! I had a dog that chewed a hole in my kitchen wall. Wish I had a photo of that!

Reminds me of my brother. He was older, but should have known better. He tried to nail something in the back of his bedroom door and chipped the paint. Went down to the basement, got some paint and tried to "fix" it. Spilled paint on the wood floor and then cleaned the brush in the bathroom sink. Only problem was - it was oil-based deck paint.

My mother was fit to be tied. I don't think he sat down for a week!
