Thanks everyone. Karen - I don't have enough kids or the space to do a separate table, I wish I did! I'll be using both leaves(sp?) in my table in order to accommodate as many at the table as possible. I usually have other guests who don't want to sit at the table and find a seat in the l/r which adjoins my d/r. The dinner won't be formal by any stretch of the imagination. I think I just need to pass by some things in the store and say to myself, aren't they cute, and not pick them up and buy them. Luvs - the eggs are plastic and I found them in January for a steal at Home Goods. I was having a problem finding something to go with my pewter and they seemed to be a possible answer. I found the garland and a wreath that matches later at TJ Maxx so it all came together. The eggs were on a garland and I just cut them off, voila! I like the natural look of the table. I found the green egg bowl as well as a very natural "speckled" white bowl that matches the eggs at Kohls. BTW - My kitchen is done in a farmhouse/rooster theme so I am having the same problem with buying too many of those type items. I am in a rooster frenzy. LOL The kids table is a great idea tho. I really think the bunny and chick rings are too "cute" for the center items on the table. Just wanted to bounce it off you guys for confirmation. I don't have enough space to do a "kids table" as we are doing buffet on the kitchen island just to accomodate everyone. We are having 15 for dinner and our home is small. I don't think I like the "cute" rings with what I have on down the center of the table, but I couldn't resist them! I think I am going to go with the sage napkins and my Lenox china. That is today, tho. Tomorrow may hold a different idea altogether depending what I find in the stores today.LOL I am wondering whether to use a table cloth? What do you think? I have a table cloth that matches the napkins, but I am wondering how the garland down the table will look on a table cloth. Time to get it out and take a look:)). Thanks again.

LOL, Luvs, I've been doing the same thing! I had a major meltdown on Sunday when I'd planned to decorate. Was depressed and couldn't stop crying, guess Dad's services the day before made it so 'final' he's gone and it hit me. So yesterday, I went thru our Easter inspiration album and that picked me up and got me interested. Then I looked at my own albums to see what I did last year and the year before. BIG mistake. LOL. Most of it looked pretty pathetic to me and I started to get down again. But I hauled some of my stuff out and put it in middle of table, which forced me to decorate!!! Things were going good, I thought. Then this morning I looked at what I'd done (with only about 1/3rd of my decos so far) and hated half of it. So I started moving stuff and putting away some again. Arrrgggh. I've got two pantry shelves FULL of things to unpack and I honestly don't know what the heck I'm doing! Seems I not only had my holiday decorating spirit missing so far this year, I have lost confidence in myself to do it nicely. I don't know what is going on but I wish it would "go away" instead. I'll get more stuff out and on the table and see where it leads today tho. sigh. Kathleen, I really hate how awful your weather has been. I wish I could wave a magic wand and send you ours from the past week. However now we are going in the opposite direction from you...Spring here is backing off and this week will be downright HOT. Mid 90s. That's not a good sign in March, summer will be terrible for sure. Hopefully our Spring will come back next week, I'm not ready for our good weather to end yet. hugs, Karen

Those look so cute! You did a great job painting them too. Makes your shelves look very festive. I too learned how to do that at an Airforce base crafts center. Used to carry a couple jugs of "slip" in my car all the time so I would be ready when I had time to go to the crafts center! That was the year DH got sent to Thailand, so cleaning the greenware and painting the ceramics filled many hours that might otherwise have been lonely hours. Back then, there were ceramic stores all over, but now, you can seldom find one. However, Michael's does have a few of those resin pieces that you can buy and paint. One of my friends painted several of those at Christmas. Thanks for showing us your pretty decorations, and bringing back some memories too. ;o) Luvs
