Just attempted to vote for you. Checked the results before and after. You 557, them 660 before. After, you 557, them 661.... I voted for you though... I think something is up with the poll. Demand a recount!

I, too, just voted for you and their count went up by one to 671, but your count remained at 557. This may be a dangling chad issue!

BKW, I really do you think you (or some other designated person) needs to contact Mission Tile directly about the conduct of this contest. Perhaps they should be sent a link to this thread. From everything you've previously shared with us about them, they seem to be a swell operation. But, the way this contest is going is not helping their image.

Look, I really have no problem with Shandi H. assembling her troops to try and win this contest. We're doing the same thing after all. But the kinds of voting glitches we are seeing, e.g. ones that suggest our votes are being redirected to her tally or, if you look at the results page first, you're locked out from voting -- that kind of stuff raises all kind of red flags that the site really may not be functioning properly. Regardless of the outcome, Mission Tile should know about it.

Thanks Marthavila, I sent Mary Elizabeth an email earlier this week when things were getting "ugly" and people were accusing her company of fixing this contest. I told her that I felt bad that her company's reputation could become damaged. I pointed her to the comments section that is on the results page, as opposed to the comments being left on the company's blog page.

I am not sure what has happened to the voting. I do find it unusual that over 100 people that haven't voted yet, suddenly appeared within 1 hour of each other. I don't know if something is wrong with the software, or worse (and I truly hope not) someone has rigged the contest.

I will not protest, or complain. When Shandi wins, that will be fine. It would have been nice to win, and fun too. I certainly would have done more for their advertising than some of the bar friends think having it there will do. I chuckle at the dimwits who say that by installing this in the bar will be some sort of great advertisement for Mission Stone & Tile. Do they think that the source of the tile will be installed with this tile? Now I could understand if this was a famous restaurant in NYC, or Vegas. It looks like a little local spot. I'm sure all the customers will be entering and wondering "where can I get that tile"?

I also hope that these 6 million or whatever (haven't looked in awhile, so you never know) voters who declare that this young entrepreneur needs this boost, do more than that--they need to hire her.

So, when I asked my dh this afternoon if he has everybody at the unnamed large Fortune 500 company he works for voting for Shandi so he didn't have to do the tile job, he responded, "we set our proxy servers to vote every time (for Shandi) anyone hits a page". See? I told you he didn't want to tile!

So, I'm not angry or bitter, I feel that I let down the GW community by not fighting harder, it was going to be a win for all of us after all. In fact, I had a good day--I found the perfect purple lamp to go into my Wasabi living room.

Just wanted to let you know I tried...I was able to vote only once from home and once from work. No matter what I did (switch browsers, delete history/cache/cookies, wait more than 24 hours), I still was not allowed to vote more than once at each location...sorry!

Did someone say you should be able to vote once per day? I haven't been able to do that...

Well, I just sent Mission Stone and Tile a courteous email regarding my concerns about what appears to be a vote malfunction with either the software itself or the contest design. I included a firm suggestion that they investigate the software as well as the comments on their own "Results" page. I also sent them the link to this thread.

Look, Bee, do not worry about letting down the GW community over this contest! I doubt that any of us are angry, bitter or forlorn about it. (And if we are, we need to get a life!) lol! We just wanted to lend a helping hand to fellow member of this forum community,is all. Still,you win some and you lose some. The important thing is to live to fight another day! And, who knows? Regardless of how it looks right now, it ain't over yet.:-)

Tried to vote - had the same issues as others. Interesting note: when you look at the Mission tile Facebook page, Shandi has a direct link on there to vote for her. Not sure if this is within rules. Also, interesting coincidence: When you google Shandi's name (easy to do because she lists her last name on the Facebook page I mentioned)it appears she is an interior designer, not a "bar owner". What's with that???

I wonder if her "bar" is in her home, not an actual business. Not sure and it probably doesn't matter; but I do wonder what she plans to do w/30 sq ft...use it as an accent? Or, order a lot more to cover her floor?

Interestingly, some of those other pics were actually quite nice and not, I think, something to be demolished for such a small amount of tile.

So, other than feeling like a total schmo for so entirely screwing up the process, I feel like WE let YOU down, not the other way around.

I kept meaning to vote but then everytime I went to the dang site I couldn't figure it out. And I kept thinking I had plenty of time to figure it out and then ... well, you know the rest of the story! *chagrined*

Also, on the total other side of the block, I took the time to read the comments under the vote. You know, all else aside, I think Shandri?s following is a little low class. All that SCREAMING and runonsentances. GAH. It made me want to poke her in the snout. I was glad to see GW being polite ... about you know, her snout.

it wouldn't surprise me if Mission Tile gave you both the prize. that would seem like the diplomatic thing to do in light of the voting irregularities.

I wanted to make sure I am perfectly clear here. I do not believe Mission Stone & Tile is in anyway "rigging" this contest. I understand the frustration that people feel when they vote and don't see their vote count. I can't explain that.

Regarding Shandi, when the contest was started entrants described where they would use this tile. She described herself as an Interior Designer and this would be for a bar owned by her fiancee's family. She was decorating/renovating it for them. The reason she is on their facebook page is simple. When the contest started it was going to be a random drawing, and your chances of winning could be increased if you "liked" Mission Stone. I"m not a facebook person, so pardon my "lingo". That is the reason you see her with the full "vote for me" stuff over there. There are other people too, but they didn't return with their photos, if you scroll down you can see them say "I hope I win, etc."

Mary Elizabeth Hulsey and I exchanged emails this evening. She wanted me to convey to everybody that this is a "Free Giveaway".

Ok gang, I'm just exhausted. I don't think I will post about this anymore. I will post the end results for all of you when the voting ends, but, really, I personally don't want to discuss it anymore.

I've voted three times on different days. The first time I voted, I didn't check the results beforehand, so I don't know if it counted. The second two times I voted, I checked results first and after I voted the numbers for all entrants were exactly the same. :(
