Hello everyone, As the title states, I just wanted to share a photo I took this morning. I wanted to see if my Nepenthes 'Miranda' had caught any insects and I couldn't see in the trap itself...so I took my camera phone and took a quick snap. Where are you located? I agree with springwood gardens that it's likely a spring freeze issue. In Massachusetts there are almost no ES or mopheads with blooms this year because of a late freeze. For pruning, sounds like you may have done it correctly. ES will sprout from the base first, then the "sticks" will leaf out slowly in the weeks after that. In my zone I usually wait until June to do the final pruning so I don't accidentally prune off the flowers. If the sticks snap off and are completely dry inside you know they're dead. Again, this year, because of the bad spring freeze, all my old wood (and flower buds) died and I have not a single bloom on my 3 ES. So it just sprouted from the base and the sticks never leafed out at all. Neighbors are in the same boat.

You all have such great gardens with beautiful combinations of perennials, irises, trees and shrubs. I'm fairly new to perennials since my main focus is old roses, and the previous companion plants I had, such as reblooming irises, limonium perezii, pelargoniums and a few others were eaten to the ground last year by the rabbits and squirrels who found nothing else to eat after six years of drought. They also ate my roses, which I now have to protect with plastic fencing. I'm having a tough time finding perennials that the rabbits won't touch since they've gobbled up lavenders, sages, marjoram and even my oldest penstemon that's been here for 13 years, which bloomed for most of the year. Two plants they haven't touched so far are mimulus and milkweed, and the few new penstemons I've planted lately. I miss my irises terribly, because they bloomed for so many months of the year here, even oddball ones like October and January. Oh well, those days are gone, and this is the new normal.Two plants of Asclepias curassavica 'Silky Gold".Penstemon 'Midnight'The only remaining day lily left in my garden; they are tasty rabbit food. Cistus 'Victor Reiter' Limonium perezii, which has come back this rainy spring after being eaten last year. The small white flower is a white form of Mimulus.

Yes, I think it is too white for your cream cabinets. Are you able to switch to another color? If you have some alternates, please post! By the way, we just had LG quartz installed this past week and it is gorgeous!

Thanks for starting this thread. I enjoy the pictures. I am always behind the camera not in it, but will see if I can find one, maybe when I was 18. LOL

Stacy, you are a fantastic looking lady, you are very photgenic. Now for me.....It took me forever to get a half decent one. I close my eyes in every photo, and I finally got one with them open.
