What to do with pork cracklings?

When DH picked up the pig, I told him to bring home a tub of lard. He brought home a huge bag of cracklings. I rendered out the lard, per their instructions. What do I do with the tubs of cracklings I have left?

OK - doing internet search. These aren't like the pork rinds you see in the store. They are just little bits, actually kind of look like tubs of maggots.

Put them into the oven to further "toast" them and render out more fat, salt and eat!
Or freeze them and put them out for the woodpeckers when the snows come.

I've not tried this recipe but it sounds pretty good to me. And I've been happy with all of Maangchi's recipes I've tried. The ingredients are not all chain supermarket staples but available without too much fuss depending on your location. The one thing I've not found is gochugaru but subbing Allepo pepper has worked for me. Perilla leaves are optional so I wouldn't go nuts looking for them. Sounds yummy!!...I would consider adding another fruit like perhaps some dried apricots, well minced and then something hot...perhaps minced pickeled jalapenos.....and using it as a glaze on chicken or pork....don't think I would like anything so sweet on fish. You also might save some for when summer fruits come in again and using it as a dressing on a fruit salad. Or....how about making a basic white cake....a dense one and mixing some of your marmalade with some whipped cream and using it as topping on a slice? And it may eventually set!! Linda C

I don't like barb sauce either, but I do like pork. Here's three simple ideas: Sliced or shredded pork on whole grain roll with warmed roasted red peppers topped with sliced provolone cheese. Put all in oven so the roll gets a little crunchy and cheese melts. Yummm. Add the pork to fried rice and make it a Chinese dish. Whala - pork fried rice. You can get the rice packaged or Trader Joe's has a very good frozen veggie fried rice if you don't want to make it yourself. Just add the pork. Lay out sheets of tin foil, spray with Pam. Inside, put the cooked pork, any veggies you want, a little chicken or veggie broth, small slices of potato (optional), and spices you like. Fold up the foil so it doesn't leak. Prick the foil top a few times to vent steam. Place on the grill or in oven. You have a pork and veggie pocket. I do this with chicken too. Note: I usually double layer the foil when cooked on the grill unless it's the heavy duty kind. When done, about 20-30 mins. based on how you like yours cooked & size of potato, slice open with a sharp knife and eat right from the foil or dump into a bowl.

Stain on my crackle tile - any thoughts on what to do?

CLEANING CRACKLE TILES-WORKED EXTREAMLY WELL! Our daughter was cooking some red sauce on the back burner, and quite a bit splattered on our crackle tile, and didn't get cleaned off. Hence, we had many red splotches on our tile that soaked in! What I tried SUCCESSFULLY was 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, and then soaked make-up remover cotton rounds with the peroxide and applied to the tile surface. I left it for a few hours and the stains were completely gone!!! There appeared to be some shadowing left were the pad was applied, but I put a small fan on it overnight and the shadowing evaporated and was gone in the morning! Thank god this worked!

Use them in corn bread or eat them like popcorn.

My Gold Nuggets are addictive when served warm and fresh as a snack with beer, perfect for watching the game. They can also be added to beans, greens, soups, stews, eggs, or as a salad topping, mixed into cornbread batter adding a tasty crunch. Use them wherever you might add bacon. I once floated them in a cream and pumpkin soup. They. Were. Incredible.

My Grandma used to make "cracklin' bread". I remember it was good but I haven't had it in years, and sometimes things just aren't like I remembered, LOL. It was cornbread with cracklin' pieces in it.

Be sure to let us know what you do with them. I do like the idea of putting them on soup,I was thinking butternut squash soup would be good with them, so that's along the same line as pumpkin.

I grind it up as powder and sprinkle on soup, salad and toasts.
