I drank powdered milk for one year living in the caribbean.

then once we left it was back to fresh milk we drank daily.

I have no idea if there is a connection to it or not.

my parents tried that route,didnt last long,its straight reg 1% milk ice cold,we are the only animal that drinks milk all our life,everything else gets weaned.

I have good teeth. We drank a lot of powdered milk when we were little. My brothers and I loved it. In fact, we used to sneak into the box and eat it dry. We liked the real thing too. We drank both.

Powdered dry milk is a good source of calcium.

I drank nothing but powdered milk for all of my growing up years. Today, my brother and I will not touch milk of *any* kind. I raised three daughters without serving them ONE glass of milk, and taught them that milk was NASTY (which it is), and they should never drink it. Now as adults, they don't touch the stuff.

BTW, all three of my girls have perfect teeth. They made it to 21 with NOT ONE CAVITY and this was with no regular dental care. We took them to the dentist when they had a problem - and that was rare.

There's a book out called, "The Untold Story of Milk," which is a very good read, and explains the many chemicals that go into milk. The American Dairy Association is one of the biggest lobbyist in the United States and all kinds of shenanigans go on with these folks and their ilk and the lawmakers. If Americans knew what junk and trash are in their milk, they'd never take another sip of it.

My teeth are okay. Not great and not horrid. We mixed fluoridated tap water with our nasty milk in my growing up years, so that probably helped.

The other childhood issue I had was horrific and persistent stomach cramps and pain. As a child, I was (apparently) severely lactose intolerant.

Milk is just nasty. SHUDDER. We're the only society that chug-alugs another animal's milk with such glee. Grosses me out.

I never drank milk at all by the age of 3. Detested the stuff then and still do.

Any dental problems were due to early childhood neglect. I never got taken to the dentist until I was 11 or so.

My teeth and jaw are strong and my bone density is good too.

I drank fresh cows milk everyday until I married 27 years ago and then switched to store bought milk. My husband and I drink 2 gallons a week and have very good teeth and bone. We are both in our early 50's. Neither one of us drank powdered milk growing up...it was fresh squeezed for us...LOL

My mother always had whole milk delivered. We weren't rich. The dairy delivered 30 quarts a week and my parents managed to pay for it. . My teeth and my youngest sisters are okay now as adults. But my 2 middle sibs (bro & sis) had terrible teeth. Middle sis now wears dentures.

We had milk delivered, too. On rare occasions, my mother would mix up the powdered mild and none of the 3 kids could stand to drink it or use it, the smell was just so obnoxious to us. We would put water on our cereal instead of using that stuff. Ugh.

I think teeth condition has a lot to do with heredity. And if you got certain antibiotics during certain years, that can affect the color of them. I know this firsthand, dangit.

Me and my 3 siblings all have good teeth -- lucky genes, I guess. I drank more milk than any of them. Powdered only, because it was considerably cheaper than fresh. I remember when we went visiting and I was given 'real' milk, the taste was okay but I didn't like the way it left a white film on the glass. I eventually gave up drinking alot of milk in my late teens. Just recently took it up again due to dr's recommendation I get more calcium. I keep a small jar of milk powder at the office so I can have a glass every morning. Lots easier than fresh, probably healthier without the fat, and I still prefer its taste. Not sure how much cheaper it is than 'real' anymore, though.

We had a milk cow too, but I agree with Rosemary and Wildchild. Milk is horrid stuff, and I never drink it or gave it to my daughter, except she had a little on cereal. I have never eaten cereal...and I do use a little milk to cook with. Like Wildchild, any dental problems I had were caused by neglect when I was a child. My daughter, who had only breast milk until she was three and a half years old, has perfect teeth.

There is a particular dairy on, I think I 10, as it goes through New Mexico. You can smell it from a mile away, and it doesn't smell like silage or manure...I was raised around cattle and I know what that smells like. It's a huge dairy with hundreds of animals and they aren't on pasture like most dairy cows were when I was growing up. They are in feed lots for almost as far as you can see. It made me so glad I don't drink milk. The stench was horrible. It smelled like dead animals. (And I know what that smells like too.)

my husband is 59. years old and when he was growing up they were very poor so they had to drink powdered milk. He has probably been to a dentist 4 times in his life and never brushes his teeth either. THen there is me who was raised on fresh squeezed milk LOL. We never had much candy when we were at home and we had to brush our teeth everyday. I remember from little on all of the problems I had with my teeth. First I had extra teeth growing out of my gums in front of the regular ones and in back of them so I always had to have them pulled out. I remember having tooth aches in the middle of the night and my parents would put whiskey on a cotton ball and I had to put it on the tooth to deaden the pain until the next morning when we could go to a dentist who was 22 miles away. Then after I moved away from home I had to go to the dentist a lot because I always had cavities, so almost all of my teeth have silver fillings. When they started doing root canals I said forget it and told them to pull them instead. Now I have spaces in my back teeth where the gums are even lower than the rest of them. Then I had two root canals done and caps put on them. I am 58 years old and I just hope the teeth I have now will last me all the days I have left. My teeth are really straight in fact some people think I have dentures which is a miracle considering the extra teeth I had and have never had braces. My mother was 23 when she got married and her teeth were so bad my dad had to pay to have them fixed. So I agree I think it is hereditary.

I grew up on WATERED down powdered milk...I had lots of siblings. The babies on a bottle did not get theirs watered down until it was near time to wean them from the bottle. All of us had good teeth. To this day, I hate milk, I find it gross. I'm not even an ice cream lover.
