We had it on tonight because there was supposed to be some local girl on, but if she was we didn't catch her. I hope to never have to sit throught that show again.

Don't you think these kids are talented? Or do you just not like the elimination process? The judges?

I personally couldn't wait for this part to start - this is where you really get to see what the contestants have and if they are good enough to make the grade. I've been a Idol fan since the first season. Rooted for Kelly Clarkson all the way!!

I know we've got some Idol fans here somewhere.

I wish someone would sing a song without all that sliding up and down the scale there is a term for it but can't remember what it is. Just sing the melody. I think a lot of them would have made it if they did. Most everyone sounded alike

I haven't watched enough to pick anyone. I was surprised a few even made it to this round-maybe nerves were to blame on poor singing? (Like a couple that forgot the words) I caught the end of Josiah, and it seemed like he did well. But I think I want to root for him anyway, given his backstory.

No favs yet, but I was surprised over some that made it and some that didn't make it. May be better able to tell next week. I know I did not like the hard rock nurse and was glad she got cut.

I'm with you, Minnie. I like riffs but not all that silliness some of them did tonight. And they couldn't land them either. They seem to think that's what it takes, but they're wrong. One girl got on my last nerve.

Darn, I forgot to watch. One of my Daughter's Students is suppose to be on.

I thought it was pretty interesting, I love this part too. Watching them from the start....

I was soooooo happy that Paula told that one gal no, the one that really blew the song and then begged, begged, begged to be put thru. The way she was behaving was like a spoiled kid that gets by on her smile. I'm glad they decided to give Josiah another chance, he's young and got the crap scared outta him but hopefully he learned from it.

Bestlawn, are you sure the hard rock nurse got cut? I must have missed that. I assumed she had went through.

I missed her getting cut also. I will start pulling my favorites out next week...I don't like the way that they are doing things this year..it's too hard to keep up with the contestants.

We've seen two or three that we really like. I like the girl with the long blonde hair that they compared to Carole King, for instance.

I agree - it's hard to keep up with the contestants this year. There's so much jumping around, auditioning and then not knowing if they made it through, or not, etc.

I hate the way they were lining them up and eliminating them last night.If this is the way they are going to do it from now on,think i'll have to find something else to watch.Didn't like the show at all last night,so turned it off.

YaYa, I like her, too. She's talented for real. Only thing is I kept thinking this is the perfect setting for her. No way will she make it to the end, but she will have a nice following. Probably more mature people, but she will get recognized because there is still a market for her, and we really need more Carole King types.

I was glad the little spoiled girl got cut, too. I kept thinking, "Oh no, not another Antonella!!!" Then, a guy sang shortly after her, and I couldn't believe he reminded me of Sanjaya. I felt myself being flown through an audio time warp. hahahahaha

Yep, Lydia. Simon told her he already knew what to expect, or something to that effect. He was right. Every song just bursting her vocal chords and my eardrums.

I was totally wrong...the nurse DID NOT get cut.
I laid down for a nap after writing that she did get cut, and I remember Simon saying that he can tell that all her songs are going to sound the same,,,but she DID go through to the next round.

Diane, I didn't think it was at that moment she got cut. I thought it was Seacrest who was later talking about those who went home. One of those moments of reflection where you know he is talking about all these people that are being shown, and she was one of them. But, I was wrong too because I just watched it again and did not see what I thought last night.

Maybe they went through all those switches and third chances to prevent another season of sorry singers like Antonella and Sanjaya.

Okay, gotta couple favorites, Siesha (sp???), Carly Smithson, and MICHAEL JOHNS!!!!!!!! Woo, that man moves me! But, we still haven't seen nearly all the contestants yet. Seacrest and the judges mentioned a few times this is the stiffest season of competition. I sure don't see that, so I guess we haven't seen the reeeally good ones.

I think the rock singing nurse made into the final 50. I was under the impression that tonight they would narrow it down from 50 to the final 24 that we will get to see compete.

Guess I'm a weirdo but never have watched the show and probably never will.

I had a hard time following last night.

I wished the heavy guy who got to Hollywood with his sister and was sort of a cheerleader had been able to stay around longer. I thought he had a great voice even though that last song wasn't one he should have been singing.

I didn't understand Simon walking out on the nerd/politician guy from Oklahoma. I think he'll get cut in the next round.

I wish he had too because others got to stay for the same reason he got cut, and Josiah and Siesha were two of them. The judges knew they were good but either had problems with their voice (Siesha) or simply blew the song (Josiah) and gave them another chance. The big guy did the same. I couldn't believe how badly he did that song, and it was a surprise to him, too. All this singing really wears the voice out if you're not used to it and not trained for it.
