I've collected gifs for years too. Yeah, when did they start being called snags? ha. Ok no matter I love them. I used to collect audio soundwavs and soundbytes, lines from movies, tv shows, cartoons. Always a riot when sent with an email; but when I got a new PC, I never got around to extracting the sound wav folder from my old PC. It's still out in the garage. Now you have to pay for many of the sound wavs I had collected.

As Patches said, you can go to gifworks.com, upload your desired gif. You will have to upload it to your computer first, then to photobucket. When in photobucket, click on edit (above the photo) A new page will appear Click on "decorate" Click on "text" or "glitter text" Two boxes will pop up. One is where the actual text will appear on your photo. The other is where you will type your text. Drag and stretch the one that will hold your actual text to where you want it. Choose the options you want in the box on the right. (I usually use a transparent background and coordinate the color of the text to what is in the photo) Click "apply" when you are done with the text. You have the option to replace the photo or make a copy. I usually make a copy, so I can use it for something else. There is an "undo" button, if you decide you don't like the way it turned out...but you have to use that before you click apply. This is just for adding text. You can add stickers, frames, make it black and white, blur the edges, etc. also. Hope that helps.

Always use the search box on the bottom of the page rather than the top! One further note: Threads drop off the Forum list about 6-8 weeks after the last post. So, if you have a thread that no one's posted to in the past couple of months, it will most likely have rolled off the Forum list and no longer be found when you do a search. Sometimes, a Google search will find an old thread, but there's no guarantee and, in my experience, you usually don't find them. However, IF you bookmarked the thread and it had at least one post after November/December 2007, you will probably be able to bring it up via the bookmark. [Posting to a thread after it's dropped of will not get it back on the list, but the later post(s) will show up if anyone links to the thread directly.] BTW...the 6-8 weeks is an estimate. It depends on how active the Forum is. In the case of Kitchens, we have 67 pages to the thread list...but if you look at that page you'll notice that the "oldest" post date/time right now (as I type) is Fri, Dec 5, 08 at 16:03

I copy and paste into a Word document then place in an appropriate folder. I have a recipe folder and within that folder have folders for Appetizers, Breads, Breakfast, etc. And, occasionally, within those folder have other folders; for example, in the Beverage folder there are additional folders, one for Alcoholic and one for Non-Alcoholic. In the Vegetable folder, there are folder for Legumes with additional folders, Root Vegetables with additional folders. You get the idea. These are saved in an external drive. And are very easy to locate. Forgot to say that the folders are on the computer, not actual paper folders. I don't print a recipe until I am ready to use it. Also just remembered to say that I keep these in a master folder called "Recipes to Try." If we don't like the finished product, the recipe is deleted. If we do like the finished product, the recipe is moved to another folder called "My Favorite Recipes." I make notes on these as to when I made it and who was present to eat it and favored it.
