Sourcebook: Industrial Style
Go edgy and raw with furniture and accessories that look snagged from a factory floor
Industrial style is all the rage right now. It used to take hunting around vintage stores and sales to find industrial pieces, but now many reproduction items are available at retail locations (and prices). Here are some of my favorite easily available pieces.

Princeton Senior
Because good lighting is so important in factories and schools, industrial design has a ton of great lighting options. Look for metal lamps, pendants and adjustable-arm pieces.

Short Industrial Metal Bath Cabinet
Few things are more industrial than metal furniture. A piece like this is designed for the bath, but who says you couldn't use it in the living room?

Lyon Adjustable-Height Industrial Stools, Dove Gray
Metal stools like you would find in a science lab are a great way to add just a touch of factory style. You can find them with backs like these or just use round seated stools (bonus points for finding one that is adjustable). With the industrial trend going strong, these are cropping up everywhere.

Part of the charm of industrial style is using a piece of machinery for a new purpose. This cart is the perfect size for a coffee table and so much more interesting.

Laundry Cart Rectangular Collection, Natural
These fabric laundry bins show a softer side of industrial. Vintage grain sacks or coffee sacks make great pillows, and an old silk parachute might be sewn into a throw. I like to pair rustic pieces with luxurious velvet curtains.

Vintage Wooden Hotel Key Rack
Accessorizing can be the easiest way to add industrial style to your home. Repurpose vintage pieces that may be "junk" but are still interesting or beautiful. Or buy the reproduction. I won't tell.
