Where are all the Triva players?

Only 15 played today. In case you missed it Casey started a Trivia game (see link below) a few days ago. Lots of fun! I am doing better, but don't see how some of you can answer so fast!!

Hi ravencajun, Thanks for the information, I put this in my favorites so that I can go back and research those later. I hope you don't mind but I do have another question about those type of programs. I have never used Quick Time or itunes, they were on my computer when I had it built. My question is what are the purpose of these programs and what are they used for? Please give me an example. I was use to Media Player because of my music and I learned how to put some music into the Media Player. Thank you both for your responses. Pam, I didn't even know what rip was regarding this software. I will look at everything a bit closer. In ITunes there is an option to load music manually and was hoping WMP had the same. I just use this software for listening to music while I am using the PC. It has taught me that I like all of my music in the library, gives me a good variety to listen to. Zep, I have used WMP for years and never had this problem before. It must have been something in an upgrade.

On Sony Micro component sets like the 5 disc CMT-HP* the remote has a pause CD play function button with a symbol like a quotation mark between the start and stop buttons. On the unit itself pressing the chose CD function button (there is also a choose Tape and choose Radio button) while a CD is playing will pause the player. Press it again will resume play. Don't know how widespread these functions are on any other products from Sony or other brands.

Don't worry about learning one hand at a time. My son's piano teacher, with whom he has been studying for 10 years, always suggests starting out a new piece one hand at a time. Not learning it to perfection or the point of memorization, but just to be familiar enough to be comfortable. Here is an explanation from Wikipedia about the reason for different clefs: "The use of three different clefs makes it possible to write music for all instruments and voices, even though they may have very different tessituras (that is, even though some sound much higher or lower than others). This would be difficult to do with only one clef, since the modern staff has only five lines, and the number of pitches that can be represented on the staff, even with ledger lines, is not nearly equal to the number of notes the orchestra can produce. The use of different clefs for different instruments and voices allows each part to be written comfortably on the staff with a minimum of ledger lines. To this end, the G-clef is used for high parts, the C-clef for middle parts, and the F-clef for low parts - with the important exception of transposing parts, which are written at a different pitch than they sound, often even in a different octave."

I've been playing at this site for a couple of years but I guess I could leave the team I am on and play for the KT.

I'll go make that change now.

I'm beginning to think the fact that I use a trackball instead of a mouse is slowing me down. Also, I discovered the hard way that you have to click rather slowly on the answer in order for it to register. Whine, whine...... :-)

Anne you can play for two teams.....I play on a small family team my sisters and I set up. Just use a different sign-in name at each one.

Hi Casey. Thanks for setting up the tournament.

I didn't have to change teams to play the tournament, I just added it. I hadn't played in a couple of months so I am glad this reminded me to get back to playing. I like playing the Global Challenge Tournament and the other games and will pick a few quizzes now and then to play. I've been with the Canadian Players team for a long time but don't participate in the message board side.

Does the KT have a team that plays the Global Challenge or just this tournament?

Deemarie, I haven't got any spam. I think it is pretty safe.

Sharon, I think it starts at 7 or 8 in the morning. I know I was up playing just after 8 the other day and only 1 person had played before me.

Anne, Casey just started this one a couple days ago, so I don't think we're in any global challenge yet. I need to get faster (and a little smarter) before I play more people than the KT! :-)
