Our news showed your area getting snow tonight. That'd sure be better than moe ice. Don't risk life and limb--no job's worth that. How long have you been without power? Aren't you freezing?

We're supposed to start getting snow after midnight, continuing through tomorrow night, occasionally mixed with sleet and/or freezing rain. Totals around 8-10" in the higher elevations where I am. We still have a layer of ice on the ground. Not my favorite kind of forecast! But I have plenty of pet food and toilet paper. :-)

We've been getting sleet and a mix all day. DH drove home from work just an hour and a half ago and didn't have any trouble. More coming tonight and tomorrow though.

I'm in Indiana, and it has been freezing rain/sleeting off and on since about noon today. Luckily I don't have to go out anywhere indefinitely. I finally went down to the mailbox today for the first time since last Friday.

Hope you get power soon.

We have had sleet, slight snow, rain, thunder and lightning and now the yard is one giant ice skating rink. I didn't even venture to walk out to the mailbox. May get more tonight:(

It wasn't as bad as they made it out to be. Our power didn't go out but the way they were talking I really thought it would. The trees and bushes are a little icy and the news says the sidewalks are worse than the roads, except on bridges. They haven't closed the school here yet.

Patti, I work at a hospital, we were given a notice yesterday by the director that in bad weather we had 59 minutes to get to work without being docked pay, but they expect you to get there regardless.

Now, schools are closed.

We were supposed to get snow here in DC metro last night, with freezing rain on top of it.

Snow never materialized, but the freezing rain sure as heck did.

We had freezing rain Wednesday night into Thursday and off-and-on all day Thursday. With about a half-inch of snow on top of it. Whenever it's bad weather, I leave extra early for work and take the city streets rather than the highway. I figure, if I'm going to get in an accident, I'd rather it be at 35 mph than at highway speeds. I'd rather drive an hour and a half and get here in one piece!

They did release those of us with laptops early yesterday, so I went on home and then worked from home.

I'm in south central Kentucky. Freezing rain here. I made it to work fine, but about half way there it startted, so I kept on going. When I got here there were only 3 cars in the parking lot, the manager said we could leave if we wanted and then a few minutes later the owner came in and said if we were leaving we needed to be doing it now. I only live about 10 minutes away-it took almost 30 minutes to get back home, but I made it safe and sound. I turned our police scanner on when I got there and it was going nuts with all the accident calls.
They called school off here early yesterday morning and I thought that was kind of odd, because according to all reports we weren't supposed to start getting the freezing rain until late afternoon. Thank goodness he did call school off-the freezing rain started about 7:45 am, can you imagine trying to get all those kids home safe and sound in the middle of an ice storm.

It's a mess here in Ohio too. We had snow first but then it turned to freezing rain/sleet. I am soooo glad I no longer have to go out (retired), and as long as my electric stays on, I'll be okay. I just feel sorry for all those who have to go out in this. Stay safe, all of you.

KCMO is covered in a sheet of ice, too - very dangerous. It's supposed to be 50 degrees on Sunday and Monday - I'm moving to Florida - this is RIDICULOUS!

I retired from my job this past Tuesday and have been stuck inside - can't even take the dog for a walk!!! Come on SPRING!

It snowed all night where I am in Ohio....started about 7:30 PM.We're supposed to get several inches today. Schools are closed here.

I hope everyone's safe and warm. It was raining this morning, only side roads were supposedly bad. The main ones were not even icy, they'd been putting salt on them all night, I guess and were still out when I drove to work. I can't wait for spring either! I hate cold, wintery weather more and more as I get older.

I'm in wisconsin. We got our nasty weather several days ago. Had a foot of snow on the roof, then 1.5 inches of rain fell on it, then the temperature fell to zero - Bah humbug! An ice dam developed on the west facing roof of my house. A wet spot developed on the ceiling of room underneath the ice dam, then another wet spot began to develop around an electrical outlet on the wall - That can't be good. This means that when the weather clears later in the year, I'm facing the cost of redoing the roofing job that was done only 6 years ago. Gotta install an anti-ice dam sheet.

Had a sheet of ice on the driveway and sidewalk. Been chipping away at that for a week. got snow piled up everywhere. Had to cut down the pile at the end of the driveway so we could see to back out on the roadway and spot any short people comming down the sidewalk. I've used up my melting salt supply. I need to look for more tomorow. It's scace and the price has climbed. My snow shovel may not last out the rest of winter. Its wear strip has worn back to the edge of the aluminum. When the wear gets down to the rivets, its goodbye shovel.

I've really made use of my 4-wheel drive Jeep this winter.

I'm ready for spring already, but that is 2 months away. I dread getting the gas bill this month - its going to be a big one, even larger than for January. The only bright spot is that we are having a string of 4 days of very clear, sunny days, the first that we've had all winter.

I think I'll curl up and hibernate for another month.
