What gorgeous bedding. Whichever gold I put up next to it looked great. I did a few subdued golds first but then I remember...aren't you one of the posters who loves bright colors in the other thread?? I did a couple bright ones.

I like the more subdued ones like Toasted Almond or the first two historical colors. I also like a rich amber in there:

I love the soji screen Squirel added to the window. I would personally go for a taupe or warm beige.

I'd forgotten the 'guest' bedroom part as I was painting :) The dark and intense colors might not be so appealing to guests, very personal, and might even be disturbing. So, here's a darker one! lol. Here are also a more neutral and a couple of grays. Something fresh, neutral, and relaxing/calming would be appealing to an outside guest. Having trouble getting the taupes and beiges for some reason. These last three might still be a little dark, but it's night!

I also like the second color from the second set. It seems calm and sedate and works with the carpet and the gold sheets.

I would never have thought of them; just seeing them with the bedding makes all the difference.
Thanks squirrelheaven! I lovvve the rich amber; and the window treatments. I don'y know if you can tell from the pciture, but the window is in a niche, and I was thinking of putting in a window seat; another thing on my to-do list. And then maybe put in a curtain at the entrance to the niche?

Toasted Almond is indeed from Ben Moore. I have the fan deck in front of me and it's got quite a bit of green undertones. It's so hard to judge from the monitor with these colors, so make sure you get some chips and sample boards before you choose.

I think that Joy bedroom was from a tour of homes, but I'm not sure????

I know people suggested the golds, but I think a green tea color would be more soothing and have more of an Asian feel for the room. Love what you've done so far and those photoshopped pictures are fabulous.

I vote for either BM Toasted Almond for the wall color or BM Livingston Gold. I also like a pillow in-between the two red shams that is in the gold family and I like the window treatments in the photoshop pics. I love how your room is gaining for of the Asian feel.

Oh, I just noticed the off-white bedsheet that squirrelheaven added to my bed linens! That looks soo much better than the all-red ensemble I have right now. One of the problems that I have while decorating is that I tend to be very (mono)color-oriented; I choose one color (or a maximum of 2) and stick to it. I do love rooms that are not restricted by color, but for some reason, while looking for accesories, only the ones in my particular color (shades of it) appeal to me. Thanks for giving me more ideas!

Ha! She just notices what I see as a spark in 'my' room :) It's a bright, warm gold! with sheen :) Inspired by the amber one from one I clipped for Frank's room. Maybe you can see it better here. I looove that golden touch in there! I'd used the accent pillow too.

Also, could you show me what a green (jute-ish?) color (that skypathway mentioned) would look like on my walls? You really are amazing for doing this for so many people (I just looked at all the threads on this board with your photoshop work. You really must consider doing this as a full-time job for paint/interior decor companies)

I would love a rich amber color, squirrelheaven, but I fear that such a color would look amazing with some nice subdued lighting, but during the day, would it look as good? The only window in that room is the tiny one in the picture.

I think you could get an amber that looks nice in the day too :) When looking for a pillow, notice that something more subtle let's your art over the bed shine. Something too bold detracts from it. Did you notice the accent light on the art? :) Dimmer would be nice, but since that's not going to happen ;) I wonder if there's a non-electric option.

Did you notice the lamp finials? They have some great Asian ones. In the virtual, which may not hold true for real life, something upright looked best (vs one of the rounder carved ones).

Here's what I recall as a jute green, and then a green tea sort of green.

I vote for the amber, but the room is so pretty and red is so versatile, you can't go wrong. Even blue will go with red. In some ways, red is almost like a neutral. Smile, your bedding is gorgeous and you're off to a great start. It's going to be yummy.

Ooooo, I like the greens too, squirrelheaven! Now this is going to be a tough decision. The amber makes it very very cozy, the green calms it down. I am definitely going to bring in a plant, the carpet may have to wait, though I love the look.

I've only seen finials at lamp stores. Not sure I'd order online due to sizing, but you might want to take one of the lamps to the shop (packed very carefully for the ride, from experience :)

Maybe a decorative hardware place would also carry them.

Yes, the little brass thing that screws the shade onto the top -- the finial replaces that part but is decorative.

Green or gold would probably be an easier selection to zone in on, I'd think. Maybe play with some poster boards for a while., (Or, maybe dh will make the decision for bold and easy one : )
