West Coast Florida Get-Together

I'm not sure if Nita has left for the brisk state of Florida yet (forcast to be 23 degrees here in Tampa tonight!), but I wanted to check in about the get-together.

Does anyone know if it's still on for this Saturday? Sharon? Dances?

YES, YES it's still on. I fly out at the crack of dawn on Friday. Dances and I will be in Tampa by 4:30. Going to spend the night at my cousins house about an hour away. We will be going to the FL State Fair Saturday morning and will go from there to the get together.

We are both looking forward to seeing you and Sharon. Hopefully any other KTer's in the Tampa area will show up. Don't need to know in advance. The get together will be held at CODY'S on Hillsboro Ave just east of the Flea Market & Racetrack Rd at 3:30 on Feb. 7th.

If anyone has any questions or need any further information please post it here and either Barbara or Sharon will help you out.

This question has been asked before - my mom lives in Treasure Island, on the waterfront & has a pomegranate shrub that my dad planted over 20 years ago - it seems to do fine w/ little extra care, & if it were properly cultivated, I imagine it doing great. She gets @ least 6-8 large fruits every year from the remaining plant (there were originally 2). Sorry but I've no idea what variety; flowers are the classic red/orange & fruits get very large & are pretty sweet. I believe he got them from Park Seed, if that's any help. Linda..yes-he had vascular surgery in early November...they couldn't stent it-they had to clean out his artery. Pretty painful for some time-the nerves in his foot have caused him pain but it's nearly gone now. We love to dance & I think it's been helpng him by dancing-vs. babying his foot. Thanks for asking! I will definitely be on the lookout for new & unusual foods this year & will report back. I don't think that I will ever get used to seeing the gigantic turkey legs they sell at Fair time here!! I mean-folks walk around carrying one of these legs-almost as big as my forearm!!! LOL!.Must be a southern item we didn't see much of in northeast PA.

When my daughter sold her house in Northport/Port Charlotte, 7% was the going rate 4 years ago, maybe 6% now?. I'd insist on a 50%/50% split of the total % charged.

It was fun, funny, interesting...I had a blast! Not surprisingly, I think, everyone was great...not a stinker in the bunch. :>)!!! I mean, 12 strangers...you never know for sure. ;>O. Oh, and purses were properly placed and phones were out of sight. Ha! The oddest/ funniest moment came when I dragged Lars into the living room for his professional opinion of some drapes, aka “ball gowns”. Luv r golden actually climbed the latter , playing the part of Scarlet O'Hara ( in reverse) to help us envision them.! He shared a few of his designs, and, wow is he talented! Just such a lovely group. We missed Jill . Best wishes to you for your mother’s quick recovery. A few pics... not what you’d like to see most, I know.

The GOOD news is that our weather is going to warm up by Saturday. Hurray! I have been sleeping in my flannel pj's & socks for 3 weeks now!
Can't wait to see everyone...have a safe trip Nita & Dances!! See you Sat Barbara!

We're still on for the 14th here on the SE coast,right? And Nita, you do have my cell #, right? Just call me Wednesdayish to confirm and tell me time, etc, if you'd like, and I'll post here for Marion and anyone else that's interested in coming. Or just post here and tell me when to be there and I'll be there :-)

April, I sent you an email last night with the time. Sent a copy to Marion and she replied back that she will be there and gave me her cell number. I don't have your cell number.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Going to have a blast with Dances. She will be staying with me at my cousins house. I just know he will give us both a ride through the hill country in this.

EEP! I know I sent an email a few weeks ago with my info, and I never did get the one Nita said she sent last night - all manner of weirdness going on with emails here. Marion - if you see this can you please please let me know what time on the 14th?
