anyone ever asked you a funny cooking question?

If you're like me, the people around you know you are a foodie and sometimes ask you questions about things. Of course I'm no expert, but I do know a little more than my co-workers who live on fast food and microwaves.

I was working tonight, and the 22 year old kid I work with called up to ask me how to make chicken wings. He just became a father and is trying to be a little more domestic. He wants to be able to make something for his mom when she comes from Colombia to see the baby. He said, "Bobby, I think my stove (oven) is busted. When I turn it on, only the bottom gets red, and not the top." After I stopped laughing, I explained what the word broil means and told him that chicken wings should never be cooked at 500 degrees. I can't wait to find out how they turned out!

So, have you gotten any "funny" questions that might be obvious to foodies, but not so much to people who don't know their way around the kitchen?
