While the husband is away....

The wives will play.

First I took the kids to the store and stocked up on frozen dinners. The kind they like but I won't buy when I have to cook for husband too. This will account for a few dinners during this week.

Second I bought a video. Yup. Bought it. Another piece of something coming into my house. BUT THEN....

I went through his night stand. I made not attempt to hide it. I got rid of just about everything in his drawer and shelf. I also went through his drawers and desk. I usually leave them alone out of respect.

Nope- not an ounce of respect here. I went through everything I could today. AND let me brag--

2 bags of garbage. TWO BIG BAGS. In the garbage can waiting for the garbage man on Wednesday! Four big bags of stuff to goodwill. Four! That is SIX BAGS Gone!!!

I cleaned out his night stand and moved what needs to be filed into the study to file. I threw old catalogs away. I kept his magazines. In fact, I cleaned up so much room, I was able to move all of his magazine from the basket in the front room to his night stand. He's not going to like it but I do. And he most likely won't notice for a while.

ANd I really didn't get rid of much. I went into the kids room and didn't think I"d find much to get rid of because I recently went through their room. One garbage bag of stuffed animals gone! Another bag of toys and games gone!

Oh yeah. GIve me a challenge. I'm ready for it.

Well almost. I'm not doing my closet if I can help it. However, even as I write, I can feel it pulling me in there.... clean me, clean this big black hole of a closet... organize me... throw stuff away....

Tomorrow the pasta machine goes! I'm going to go through all the stuff I can in the kitchen. Yeah yeah! I'm making progress now. There isn't much I can do in the study since I recently went through the study and got rid of and rearranged what I had in there. But I may just go through the study again.

You go, girl! I tackled our master bedroom closet last month and got rid of a bunch of stuff, including some of DH's stuff. He has yet to even notice.

As for stuffed animals....(scream!). My MIL, bless her heart, was one of those who stood in line for Beanie Babies. Well, now our kids can care less about them. Stuffed animals, IMO, are the ultimate clutter.

Isn't funny how we know that the dh's won't notice for a while? THen you can lie and say, "I got rid of that 6 months ago!" or the other post was, "I don't know what happened to that!"

Danielle..Congrats on that...If I meant away for a week and someone forgot to water my plants for just two days, many would croak..I've thought of having just succulents, but I can't seem to do away with my fragrant ones... Yes, being able to wake up and go to bed any time you want is something I have not done in years...Not to have to look at the clock is a luxery..I miss those days. I live in Northern Ma...Just on the border of N.H almost near the coast....So it can get cold here still by May which leaves me no choice except to wait until the end of May when all are safe outside. Ia m hoping to go to Florida..Far from here. I tried that stay home and relax thing and it did not work out. All I wanted to do was work on the house and more..Not good. I am talking about sleeping on a beach for days or reading a book on a chair at teh beach or by a pool, maybe Pugs house, Laurs or Patty's..lol I get up at 5 every day, run a cleaning buisiness, then work full time..Work out 4 days a week after work at 8 pm and then care for my parents about that. I also care for my home, feed the birds, cat, fish and plants...lol MIke

Evenie, Clematis viticella is the best clematis hybrid for heat and humidity. It is wiltproof. This is my favorite, Venosa Violacea (I have two). There are more pics on my blog. I think I have about 15 clematis vines, most of them doing very well though young. Clematis texensis is the other foolproof hybrid for our climate. Each of these hybrids have many varieties. You have the RIGHT to request whatever you want. Maybe the owner/ REALTOR will cooperate. I sell multi units and don't show them on the weekends unless absolutly neccesary. They would not be obligated to make sure you are home IF proper notice is given. I prefer to have tenants away from the apartment when I show them for sale or for rent. It's just a lot easier for the buyer/ new tenant, to spend time looking at the apartment instead of feeling like they are invading someones home. avg showing time when tenant gone for rent 12 minutes avg showing time with tenant home for rent 2 minutes.

Lu, I am doing very well. If you have not read on the caregivers forum, I met a very wonderful man. He is 80 and I am 81. I met him on the Internet. He lives 43 miles from me. Well now we live together in his house. We were married July 4th of this year. I was so lonely and so was he. We both lost our spouse over a year ago. We are so compatable and get alone very good. We both like the same things. Our children are all very happy for us. I know I would not of lasted very long in this world if I had not met Bob. I am so sorry to hear that you lost your Mom. There is such a void in a person's life after they lose someone so close to them. And losing a mother is very sad. God Bless! Betty in Florida

Still working on it. Bags = big black garbage bags! Full.
Two bags of toys.
One bag of stuffed animals.
Two bags of Misc. Stuff- sheets, towels, etc. All in good condition and rarely used because they just don't match my house.
One bag of baby stuff- clothes, toys, blankets etc. (Sigh no more babies for me!)

I think altogether I have about ten bags ready to go to goodwill sitting in the back of the truck. I also have two or three bags by the curb and a box of garbage ready to go to the dump.

I'm feeling good.

I read the post to my DH to see what his reaction would be. He said "You better not ever do that!" I said I wouldnt. Good thing he didnt check my trash bags last week!LOL.I dont know why they make such a big deal out of it especially since 99% of it is never missed. When will they ever learn?!?! Carolyn

Oh, yeah!! I took some away from my DD as punishment, and she's asked for them back a couple of times. "when you comb your hair every day for four days, with only one reminder." Either combing her hair is more trouble than I think, or she doesn't really miss these animals.

She's got SO many of them, how can she even notice they're gone?

I'm fortunate, my DH isn't THAT bad. And if I did go through his desk and file and toss stuff, I don't think he'd be made--mostly because he'd trust me not to toss something he really needed. But then, he defines "really need" in a sane way.

I hate stuffed animals, too! I put two bags in the barn (naughty, I know:) They have been there since July....last night DD cried because she couldn't find "cucaracha" (excuse the spelling:)....
