Last week we were supposed to get a lot of snow (at least 8 inches). We got 4-5". Today we were supposed to get a "dusting". It has been snowing for hours now. I measured it and 30 min. ago and it was 2 1/2" and is supposed to snow heavier later in the day. I have been listening to my police scanner on my Kindle Fire and there are property damage accidents all over town because the roads are slick. Cars in ditches, etc. I only have to drive 3 blocks to get to my volunteer job at the hospital.

Beautiful day here in southern Wisconsin and away from Lake Michigan. It was in the 70s F for most of the day, touched on 80 F and then fell back. A stiff beeze kicked up from the southwest, gusting to maybe 20 mph. And now tis midnight and we still have windows open. However, just a few minutes ago, something blen in that started me sneezing and eyes burning for about 10 minutes. This unusually nice weather for this part of the continent. We heard a mysterious boom last night - think it was a sonic boom from the meteor that streaked in. They are still working on trying to locate the approximate landing location. No one knows for sure the path it took. It is believed that it broke up into many little pieces. At least, there has been no report of someoen getting drilled with it or property damage. Maybe, I'll go trolling my rain gutters with a magnet - might find metalic meteor particles. [No joke, micro-meteor do fall more than one might envision, and those with metalic content collect in rain gutters. If you find metallic particles largely of iron and nickel compounds, these are have a good chance of being micrometeors.]

North of Chicago: We've had four glorious days of Goldilocks' *just right* warm weather with clear skies and low humidity, but today the humidity is starting to creep up. We're to have near 90F this weekend. No rain until possibly Monday night. (We need rain again.) Nice weather, but...my sinuses have been just *awful* so I can't really enjoy being outdoors. Curious to see if this abates when we have to have the A/C on this weekend.

Cold and windy. I ran out earlier in jeans and a sweatshirt and was cold. I turned the heat on this morning and left it on. It is 44 right now and 2 days ago it was 85! Supposed to get below 32 tonight and tomorrow night.
