LOL Kat. While reading your post my phone rang and it was the Zumba teacher calling to answer a couple questions I had about shoes and clothing. I told him that I've been warned by a friend to NOT wear old bowling shoes. He cracked up. I don't have any worn out shoes except perhaps my hiking shoes and they do not work well for Zumba. I wore them to my one and only Zumba class which was offered by the ranch conservancy where I hike. We danced and yelled at the top of our lungs in the middle of an old horse corral complete with tufts of dead grass, dirt clods and gopher holes. Not the best place to experience Zumba for the first time. :-) Charmaine (my sis) lives in Gig Harbor. Not sure where she teaches but I suspect it's Gig Harbor. Didn't buy anything but did check the succulent section; everything sitting in water and prices were, IMO, ridiculous. From $9.99 to over $20 - can't justify that for size that used to be for sale around $5-7 (almost all in 4"pots). This was $10, and marked "rhipsalis"...Many TC in different size pots and red, pink & white color, most in bloom (so easy to ID) and all sold as "Christmas cactus". All other plants were labeled as "cactus miscellaneous" or "succulent miscellaneous". This plant was with sanseverias - anyone knows what it is? It has teeth on the margins and few pups; I am guessing a bromeliad?:

Ewemayo, thank you. I bought one a few years ago it wasn't the super warty variety just the one you see at the box stores and it turned to mush overnight. I was going to plant it in a mostly Pumice mix to try and prevent over watering issues this time. I have always steered clear of the faucaria after my last one turned to mush but when I touched the leaves of the ones at SG and felt how hard they were I decided to give it another go! I'll find a nice place outside to acclimate it to bright light/ full sun. thanks for the advice! Liz the portulaca is one I always seen online but never see in the store. When I saw it at SG I decided I wanted to take it home. After I got it home and google imaged what more mature specimens look like I was even more pleased I decided on this one. With so many succulents to decide from at SG, after eliminating the ones I already have there is still a nice selection to choose from! I'm staying at a friends in Monterey, ca for the week which is only about a 20 minute drive to SG but I can't wait to get home and find pots for my new plants!
