Hi,

We have uploaded our almost FINAL kitchen design to PhotoBucket and we are looking for feedback. We will be going into production starting Monday.

We currently have a small eat in kitchen and are limited to the current footprint.

In order to "create" a larger kitchen, we are moving walls/ and doors to really provides a better flow from room to room while at the same time allow for additional cabinets to added to the kitchen.

A new Banquette will also reduce the footprint and conserve space for foot traffic and cabinets.

We really like everything so far, but we are deciding on the hood.

My wife really wants to include a large corbel into the kitchen design. In order to make her one and only request materialize, we have gone from a standard 36-39" range hood over a 30" range to a whopping 78" hood.

This hood/range is the first thing we will see when entering the kitchen everyday so it will be the main focal point. Our main front hallway is directly centered on this range.

We have dropped the traditional side wall cabs that were next to the hood to allow for a larger hood.

To recapture this lost cabinet space, we are now thinking about adding two (2) pull out spice/can racks on either side of the range. This change will increase the usable cabinet space and keep the budget the same.

Though the hood looks great, we are not sure if we want the sides of the range hood to extend all the way to the countertops.

Pluses - Additional Storage depending on configuration, very dramatic change from normal 36 range hood

Minuses - Loss of Counter Space, Blocking Light from windows.

So what we would like to hear, does this range hood work with the sides or should we drop the sides altogether and maintain the large hood.

We have also include photos of another kitchen that is has the same paint and granite combo that we are using.

The Cabs are to be painted in Farrow and Ball Tallow and we are 99% sure we are going with Kashmir Gold Granite

Thanks

Kevin
