I don't like strong coffee so am wondering what latte is like. Is it very strong at Tim hortons?

not sure about the lattes, but know dh is like you..he orders their coffee large half hot water! lol...

I don't know if this will help since I'm not familiar with Tim Horton's, but where I drink lattes you have a choice of one-shot or two-shots (of espresso, I think). And maybe some people ask for more shots; I don't know. I don't like strong coffee either, and I always order one shot (decaf, with plain soymilk foam). I love lattes!

The only info I can find is close to what you say: "roughly a foot a year", but there are some people saying its reached over twenty feet tall in ten years..... At the same time I have read that site conditions really can make or break growth. On shallow dry soils it apparently grows shorter wider and slower. On its prefered habitat (floodplains, which is why it can take wet feet in your yard) they grow taller more narrow and faster..... Maybe I just answered my own question? lol ==>>> yes.. you did ... how any given plant does ... in your little slice of heaven .. in your soil .. in your climate.. in your sun ... in your microclimate ..... with your winter... is frankly.. unanswerable ... except by your experience.. after the fact .... i would sum up your info ... to think it will grow at least one foot ... with potential of two ... what more specificity could there be.. with all the unknown variables??? grow the seeds.. have fun .. and if things dont work out in say.. a decade or two.. cut the tree down and get on with life ... just as you would with any underperforming annual or perennial ... too many peeps think that just because its a tree .. its not disposable if things dont work out.. the only real difference is the time scale ... are you really not going to have fun with a few seeds.. just because in 20 years it might not all work out .... ??? .. i think not.. go for it .. damn the facts and reality .. lol ... eh??? ken ps: you do know.. that canada is NOT kentucky.. right???? ,,,, lol ... and that most likely.. you wont get coffee off the tree ... Yes, no special equipment is required, but, you're not getting all that liquid gold out of the grounds by not pouring everything, even the dregs, into a good filtering setup. Coffee is costly enough that when I use 3 cups of grounds to make a half gallon of coffee, I want ALL the flavor I can get from those beans. I line my strainer with a large square of fine mesh fabric (think wedding veil), add a large fluted paper coffee filter (can be purchased at a restaurant supply/Smart n Final) and let it drain for several hours. Then I twist that fabric up and over the grounds and wring out every last drop I can. And I only add 2/3 the amount of half & half/milk, not an equal amount. Remember, I like it STRONG.

Now that crying scene looks more like a picture of my daughter for the first year of her life (colic). I wore her like an extra layer against me for about a year. It was the only way she was soothed and could sleep I know exactly what you mean by escaping to do the dishes. Just look back on the happy baby pictures if it ever gets to be too much...:-).

"malt is a by product of roasting grains of all types. Coffee is roasted. " Sorry but I am not buying this ;-) Coffee is NOT a grain!! It is a seed and to the best of my knowledge you cannot get malt from a seed, only from sprouted, roasted or fermented cereal grains. Wheat, rye, barley, etc. I can find no literature that addresses anything about coffee "malt" beyond adding grain malt to coffee as you might with anything desiring a malt flavor. And I see nothing about the evaluation of roasted coffee that includes testing for malt. If you could provide some documentation that supports this contention, that would be helpful. I could find nothing.

tim hortons isn't quite like starbucks..more on the line of dunkin donuts, but they do have breakfast sandwiches, and you can get things for lunch or light dinner...the one claim to fame is the "marked" coffee pot..with the time it was brewed...they toss if not used in a certain time frame...

I do miss the Tim Hortons sandwiches, soup, etc --wish they would build some here in the lower 48

I love Tim Hortons-best coffee I ever tasted. Have one right near my late Mom's house. I'd always stop there when I visited her. I think there is one at Penn Station in NYC. I know for sure there is NOT one anywhere on Long Island.

After a meeting of a group which I attend, when several of us go to an after-meeting at Mickey D's, I used to order hot choc. ... then they didn't have it any more ... and I didn't like their coffee: some used to say that it'd need upgrading to be considered proper dishwater.

But - recently Mickey's has made a major upgrade ... and some say that Timmy's has slipped ... so that now some say that they like Mickey's better than Timmy's!

Imagine!

Yep, I don't drink coffee, but all of my work friends switched to McDonal's coffe a few months ago. They all like it better. I think they sell lattes now too.

McDonald's coffee is good! I don't like Timmie's at all. It's very inconsistent.
