Immediate HELP! Needed for vent hood cabinet design

Hi,

We're stuck. We are trying to design a valiance to add to an existing cabinet above our range top. The cabinet style which houses the vent hood is made of maple, with 2 raised panel doors with a Amaretto colored stain with a heavy brown glaze. We are trying to give the kitchen a warm, family friendly atomsphere; leaning towards a Tuscany style.

Alittle about what has transpired. Bad news; it's been 10 months since construction started, with months of nothing being done. Our KD is no longer in business (claimed bankrupcy), so we can not get help from him. The good news is; we made direct contact with and have been working closely with the cabinet maker, who is very helpful with this and other things that were not done correctly by the KD. The cabinet maker is willing too try and make whatever we think we would like for a finished look. So we thought with their help and the help of all the people who visit this site, we'd get it right.

There has been a dimensional design error made by the KD. But short of removing the existing cabinetry and the added expense of doing that, we are trying to work with what we have.

The kitchen overall cieling height is 92". The cabinet over the range top is 30" wide and holds the vent hood. Cabinet height is 27" and is mounted up too the ceiling, and is 29" above the range top surface.

All ideas and pictures are welcome.

Thanks ahead of time.
