Cooking one ear of corn in Micro Wave

I have been cooking for myself, except for when the gang piles in for the weekend.

I usually cook one ear of corn in a Skillet with a glass lid

but did not like heating all that water,

to cook one ear.

I know there are many ways to cook corn but I thought of another.

I found a Planters Peanut jar; with a lid, that was just the right size, for one ear of corn.

Took the plastic seal off the glass lid, so it would not build up pressure.

Put the corn in and filled it with water.

Placed it in a microwavable soup bowl, just in case it broke

Cooked it for 5 minutes, checking temperatures at one minute intervals.

After 3 minutes, the internal temp of the cob was 208 Deg.

Same as the external temp.

It cooked great !!!

I have cooked corn in the micro before, in a dish with some water.

But this worked better for me.

Does anyone have an alternative method ???
