Oh yeah, I would, too. But I'd be sure they knew I did't want it short. It's taken me a long time to get it back to the length it is.

In a heartbeat! One of my dearest friends does mine and I think that may not be a great thing....she knows what I like and so that is what she does. I would love to have someone just look at me and decide what would look good.

Our dd Caryn has connections to a styling school and she has been a 'model' for them. She has shorter hair, but they have done some fun...unique styles! One was just a couple months before her sisters wedding! She walked in to show me, and as my jaw dropped, all I said was...it has to be more "normal" by the wedding! She changes her styles and colors often, and the kids just love working on her!

If I asked, I would let them do as they pleased! It is only hair and mine is short, so within a few weeks, it could all be changed! =)

I'd do it in a heartbeat if mine wasn't already so short. I've gotten a few great cuts in my life and they were always from people on the cutting edge, no pun intended, of style/design. Unfortunately, the really good stylists never seem to stay in one place for very long.

My DD did it once while living in NY. The only complaint she had is that they selected the hair style and it was much edgier than what she wanted. But that was the deal - the stylists were learning the newest styles.

I did this about 7 years ago along with my daughter who was 14 at the time and my foreign exchange student. I told them they couldn't cut the kids too dramatic but I let them do what they wanted with me. I loved the haircut but hated the color. The one I did was about the latest colors. I remember my daughter had streaks of purple in her hair (only a couple so no biggie) and it was very cute. The exchange student had streaks of blonde which was very cute. I had a color that was a few shades darker than my normal color which I hated. The color though only lasted a couple of weeks. It wasn't a permanent color so it was not a biggie. I will say I loved the cut. The kids also loved their cuts. They were quite edgy for the time and easy to style.

I would do it again today as long as I could wash the color out.

Went to one of their teaching schools near L.A. in the early or mid '90s. It took a long time (what with the teachers walking around and checking things, and I had the slowwwwest stylist I'd ever seen!), but the cut was nice. That was free. A number of years later, when I was living near N.Y., I went to the Sassoon salon. Mucho bucks. Didn't really think that cut was anything special.

So do it! Sometimes we get stuck in the same old, same old rut and we need somebody else to show us a new way!

I'd do it. My color and style have been very "safe" for a long time. I am 58 years old and my hair sure looks it.

Yes I have done it before...actually I was doing the cutting and the professionals are right there every step of the way....they are usually doing a specif cut so find out what it is before had....And usually the styles are more fashion forward or as someone stated edgier then usual...just so you know! The last perm I had left my hair in a sad state, so I have let it grow out hoping to make it better for the next one.

I doubt if they will ever come here, but I would be the first to sign up if they did.

I had a hairdresser years ago that would only charge me $20 to experiment on my hair. It was only to cover the cost of the supplies she used. Quite often, I wouldn't even be facing the mirror and she had complete control over my hair. The first time she did my hair, she coloured it copper and put in blonde and red hi-lights. Then she gave it a cut that made my hair flip up.

My favourite cut, however, was the one I had when I went to The Netherlands. She cut it short and the back had the 'messy' look. She coloured it brown and put in blonde and red hi-lights.

No in this lifetime! I have this very thick, naturally wavy/curly hair that a good hairdresser can do absolutely anything with - including blow drying it straight. I can do zip with it other than stick my head under a tap and apply some curl enhancing guck. You would not believe the things that have been done to my hair - and in a few cases by a regular hairdresser - who took a course. I recall once going for a trim - my hair was maybe collar bone length and the hairdresser cut one side over my ear and left the other as is. I didn't think it was a joke because all I was expecting and asking for was a trim - but zap off came the side over the right ear in one piece. Moving on I had more not so wonderful experiences. I finally found a great guy in Ottawa and then we moved to Alberta. When we moved back to Ontario - Toronto this time, we occasionally visited my husband's family in Ottawa so I went to this fellow who cut my hair -by this time he owned his own salon. Then in the late 1980s he told me that he would be away for 3 months in Toronto studying at the Vidal Sassoon Institute - wanted me to know in case I called looking for an appointment - and was told that he was in Toronto. He told me that if I were to go to him at Sassoon's that he would be forced to cut my hair in one of the at the time edgier current styles because my hair would look very good - wouldn't suit me and wouldn't last - but my hair would lend itself to the various edgier cuts - and neither of us would be happy. I have heard this from other people and 3 weeks ago an acquaintance went to Sassoon's and well, her hair looked as if it had been cut with a bowl and then angled - and basically was told the same thing - that they do what they want with your hair. Of course Sassoon salons are all over so other people might have better luck. The icing on the cake was that 3 weeks before our wedding my long time hairdresser cut the front of my hair in a triangle. I sit on the edge of the chair every time I have to find a new hairdresser. And I always watch out for the "pinking shears" - not good and there is a well known hairdresser who uses these thinning shears as his trademark. I saw him on TV doing hair and the person was not happy with her formerly thick, but now thin hair. I think so much depends on each person's experience. I have no problem with anyone experimenting on my hair as long as it does not involve the scissors or colour - other than that - go crazy. Fortunately my hair grows very fast. I hope things work out at the school. It is very hard to find someone who can cut curly hair.

I think it sounds fun, and I'd do it in a minute! But I should add that my hair grows fast, and if I didn't like it, I'd be able to change it soon, even if it started out short.

Going this morning to get it cut. Went in last night for a consult and she gave me an idea of what she is going to do. I'm good with it. My hair grows fast too but I think I will like what she is going to do. Will post pics later.

I usually get my hair cut about three times a year.

They wouldn't want mine ... as there's little left on top.

I used to cut hair when I spent those 6 years in Univ. dorm - for peanuts (and ... no comments about monkeys, please).

P.S. But I loved peanuts - when I had teeth ... now, I have to let 'em sit there in the mouth and soak for an hour or so before I can deal adequately with 'em.

But - most of the time the mouth doesn't have much else to do ... unless I'm talking to myself (and that can be done silently - though I do think that it's more real/effective if done aloud).
