I think they look fabulous!

Those are nice looking lamps. I think they will work well for you.

The lamps are nice, but I would rather see something with some curve and a bit more heft. Since those will be floating in the space, rather than up against a wall, I think something that has a more substantial base will be more visible and create a better punch of interest and color.

Don't feel compelled to use two lamps. One larger one could be just as nice.

As far as color, when you do the zoom view of those lamps, it is a bronz-brown-grey finish on the lamps. As for the height, find something, even a box, that is about that height, or pile up some books, so you can see what that will look like from the perspective of those sitting in the chairs, as well as from the DR side. I don't think that that height will be a problem- you want them to show up tall enough as seen from behind the couch.

Thanks everyone. I think I've decided to hold off until the table is in place. I was all ready to order and then got to check out and something held me back, so I'm thinking they must not be quite right.

I did a mock up as les suggested and used the two vases with dried hydrangeas that are on the buffet now to stand in as lamps. Well it looked so great, i think I may just put the vases there instead of lamps. DH is rolling his eyes because he really wants more lighting and it just isn't happening for the poor guy.

I'm really excited about the table though. I found an old cabinet - I think it used to be the upper cab in a very old kitchen. It's just 14" deep and the right height for a sofa table. I'm going to try to put industrial style wheels under it and paint it. If it turns out, I'll post pictures.
