Comfortable but not over-bearing recliner?
Comments (18)Leather or upholstered? In hubby's home theater room we started out with a LaZBoy couch. Something went wrong with the workings and the upholestery was ripped from the inside (under warranty) so we used the warranty value to trade for two recliners with a custom upholstery. Three weeks into the recliners the upholstery was coming apart at the seams so we traded for two new recliners with a completely different custom upholstery. Within 6 months that upholstery was fraying on the arms (we rarely used these chairs) and had started to streak. It was a fight but we got our money back and decided to go leather. One thing that I always hated about the recliners was -- they look like recliners. Eww. At NFM (great if you live in Eastern KS) we found a reclining sofa and recliner pair that are very comfortable, have lasted well so far (we've had them about 5 years now), and don't look like what I call the typical "80s moon boots" reclining furniture. I will see if I can find a picture. Not overbearing at all, IMO....See MoreStressless Recliners - Can We Discuss
Comments (32)Amck, I agree! I have heard nothing but rave reviews on Stressless and I love a great MCM style. It definitely is a pass down through the generations quality. I am so excited to see your lovely chair/chairs in place so please post pics when they are in place. Just, I love that beautiful tangerine color also. I think it makes the chair incredibly gorgeous! I am a sucker for orange. I don't know why because it used to be a color I hated. Gr8day. The H & M was more than I thought I would ever pay for furniture. When we went to the Keeping Room it was for DH to try out a different H & M sofa. He wasn't impressed. Then he saw the Teton sofa and fell in love. He usually doesn't care a whit about furniture so I caved. I wasn't really looking for a recliner but fell in love with the one I made the mistake of sitting in so we ordered it. I also made the mistake of sitting in another chair while we were there and couldn't get it out of my mind. Several months later I contacted Duane again and asked if he still had that chair, when he said yes I arranged to have it delivered....See MoreUgly Craigslist Couches--Let's see yours!
Comments (77)That hand painted furniture link? Priceless! "My wife does all of this by hand, our whole house is full of items for sale," Yes, they are all for sale because everyone sells things they don't want in their house anymore ;) I think you should get this one. Not because it's beautiful, but because it would be SUCH a challenge to re-upholster :) http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/fuo/3213461501.html Or this one - though it would be a SHAME to recover it since they claim it's only a few years old ......See MoreReclining chair you love?
Comments (24)The power recliners are nice too, but those "10" mechanism chairs (rocker recliners) are sooooo comfy. Hint- the non-rockers ("15" mechanism) are not as comfy as the rockers, but they are "wall-savers", meaning you only need 4" from the wall to recline. The rocker recliners need about 8" to a foot, depending on the style. The high leg recliners are not wall-savers. I'm glad you have a Gallery near you - expect to not decide on the first go-around. In fact, I recommend it. For the first visit, sit in everything & look at fabrics. Narrow it down, sleep on it, then go back to decide. May I ask where you live (in case I know someone to direct you to)???...See MoreUser
