Nice, but what do you use them for?

If you look in my wallpaper post, a smile for winter you will see the recycle, my computer and my documents have been changed to pencils. It is just a fun thing to do. The icons I posted about here are large enough to be clips art and have to be resized and converted to windows icons. I will use some of these for clip art as headers on letters I write to friends and family who don't have PC's. They make a big hit with kids and adults.

How do you change the icons from the orignal ones? sorry, I have never done that.

I have Windows 7 and I right click on the desktop and choose "personalize". On the top left hand menu is the option to "change desktop icons". click on that and the desktop icons, recycle, my computer and my documents will come up. Highlight one, click change icon and the computers icons will come up. If you don't want those, click the browse button and follow the path to the ones you have saved.

The instructions for XP will vary a little, I think it is under display. If you use the ones from the site I recommended, you will have to resize them. I use Irfanview and I typed 70 in the size box. The icons are png or something like that...when I saved I opted for windows icon. You will have to look around a bit as I said the steps are different with different systems. you can see below that the icons have been changed to hippo tracks instead of pencils like in the first picture. For me it was fun to play around with stuff like this and I like the results.
