I have had friends that have done this, they love it!

My kids have ran in it and loved it. Great fun.

But be aware of the charitable portion of the event. The Color Run is a for profit agency. They do not give all the registration monies to the charity - as a matter of fact they say they are "raising awareness" for the charity...... I think the amount of money the charity gets depends on how many volunteers

They are very upfront about this - and I don't think that "non-profit" groups give that much either, with a lot going to the administration of the group. The Color Run, at least, is honest about it! :)

Me too....never heard of it. I don't run in anything I have to pay for. My employer participates in sponsored runs & they pay the entry fee.

Every Tuesday night the pub downtown(downtown is where all the college kids hang out anyway) they have a 5k run along the creek that borders a LARGE park(the trail itself, goes about 20 miles, then keeps going to the next town) that ends at the Irish bar, for this run.

The pub sponsors runs where they have beer they hand out instead of water....:0)

Running "can be" a group sport....just for FUN!

My kids may have don one, they have done Zombie runs, you wear flags on you and crazy zombies chase you and try to get your flag. On younger DD and her BF have done mud runs, it is a run with an obstacle course you have to go through that is where the mud is. They wear clothing they can just strip off and throw away when you are done;)

There are so many fun runs out there to do. Older DD does on almost weekly~I think all of them are charity runs. She did one where they ran through, Disneyland, back stage and all~she said it was really fun, but too pricey and on top of the run fee she had to pay $16 to park, she did not do it this year.

In fact DD is a run freak~~~younger DD is a swimming freak at least 1 meet a month and also loves open water (ocean) swims,

In my town they have had a Zombie run like YogaLady describes for the past few years, I've wanted to go at least to see it if not to run in it, but it usually is the morning after our big Halloween party. In this run, you start either as a normal person, or a zombie. The normal people start first, and the zombies chase after them. If a zombie catches a normal person, that person has to leave the race, go to the makeup booth to be done up like a zombie, and then they rejoin the race chasing the remaining people.

The local event is called the "Danger Zombie Run"

My girls have done a color run. It looks like fun!
