Tally Sue- exactly, less sugar and no artificial sweeteners. I sometimes make frozen canned lemonade using 6 cups of water instead of 4. It is veryu refreshing!

I think all manufacturers have gone to the "water resistant" rather than "water proof" label for legal liability reasons. All it takes is someone wearing something really expensive that gets ruined by a bit of moisture on it, filing a huge lawsuit because the coat said "water proof" so they expected it to be totally impenetrable.

Having said that, I have a full-length raincoat that has never let a drop of water through. It's a London Fog, and it even has a zip out liner. I love it.

Cute dressy tops for big women that are longer than 30 inches! I like my fluffy stuff all covered up!

I'd like to see more stuff geared toward lefties. I'd also like to see clothing manufacturers make "Petites" really petites. Used to be I could by off the rack. Now they're longer and I have to have them hemmed. Maybe I shrunk--but not THAT much!

What can't you find square rugs without paying a fortune? Not everyone has rectangular rooms or dining tables.

Jodi - Square rugs are hard to find. However look at the FLOR modular line of rugs - they come in individual pieces and you make the size you want. They are good quality, Martha Stewart even designs some of them. You stick them together at the edges with a special adhesive disc that can be removed. They don't stick to the floor and they have a non slip back. You can make all kinds of designs and even remove one it it gets dirty. And you can even trim them if you need a really odd size.

Food that is advertised and geared to appeal to children that is actually GOOD for them! Less sugar/sweetener in children's food & medicine. We are TAUGHT to like things which are THAT sweet, so why are we doing this to our kids?

Although, I find that many dessert mix boxes had decreased the amount of sugar, I don't think it's enough. Comparing to European's dessert, it's still way too sweet!

I agree that the sugar quantity in desserts and drinks must be cut down alot more. I have tested some dessert recipes and had cut down the sugar in 1/2. I brought it to work and no one knew that the sugar was less.

Why doesn't anyone make an oval, BLACK, dining room table that doesn't have the gosh-awful distressed finish?

I used to buy unflavored soda water, then several years ago I switched. Now I freeze several half-bottles of water, then fill them with cold water. I stick a couple in my styrofoam cooler and keep one at my desk covered with an insulated bottle cover so I always have ice water on hand. I NEVER used to drink any water, but now drink lots of water every day. I can now barely stand to drink a soda. Much healthier, probably, and it is "home" water, not city water.

I had a raincoat labeled "water resistant," and it was great if I was using an umbrella, or the rain was light. I want a nice-looking raincoat with SLICKER power!

I also wish you could buy four-buckle overshoes, esp. for kids, so my kids could wear the uniform shoes to school in the rain, and not have to change.

I agree, Gayle, can't even go out to eat anymore without being oversalted to death. I don't oversalt the food I make at home and so when I go out to eat I can barely eat the food.

I also would like more short, fat women clothes that aren't low cut. Tried to buy scrub pants at Wal-Mart the other day and they are going to all drawstring, low cut stuff. Not a petite pant in the whole place either. I had to order them through an on-line catalog.

Why don't they make t-shirt type tops for the larger woman that aren't horizontal stripes.We all know those stripes make us look bigger.And on that same note,why can't i find nice printed,florals and other nice prints in t-shirt knit fabrics at the yardage stores??

Kathi-That is another one I didn't think of! When I see a fluffy lady with a horizontally striped shirt on I just shake my head and wonder if they looked in the mirror before they left home.LOL I was at Wally World yesterday and was in the fabric dept. not really looking at fabric but saw some on a table for $2.00 a yard.There was one piece that caught my eye,a kind of camo type design but it was pink and beige and a green color.I thought it would make a nice shirt,liked the texture and everything.I stood there about 10 minutes trying to talk myself into getting it.There were a couple of other pieces too that would have made nice tops,but talked myself out of it.LOL I use to sew everything from jeans for my kids to suits for DH.Made all my clothes!But I haven't sewn in at least 10 years.I have a brand new sewing machine,still in the box that I bought over a year ago!LOL
I'm thinking I may go back and get that fabric and maybe a couple of other pieces.I guess if I messed it up it wouldn't be much lost.LOL Only thing is I would have to buy a pattern as I have NO idea where all my patterns are,and those things are expensive!

I agree about the length of rain coats. They sell the "jelly" ones here (sort of clear but in colourful choices and are a plasticky material) but they are waist length. If you want one longer, it is usually a london fog style and just treated material that gets damp through.

My question is why don't they make girls long sleeve shirts long enough in the body? They have thigh lengh short sleeve t-shirts, but all the long sleeve shirts are cropped short. DD doesn't like a strip of belly showing.

I also used to sew all our clothes including DH's suits,and even made my own panties for awhile.I took classes in Lingerie making,Mens clothing,Free motion embroidery etc etc.

Unlike you i still do some sewing for myself,and the GK'S and GGK'S.I also still sew curtains and home decore stuff as well as make quilts.But our fabric stores are getting fewer and fewer.

I also worked in a fabric store for 10 years and used to find some nice t-shirt knits on the flat fold tables,but can never find anything like that on bolts,and the store i worked at lost the lease and closed.Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Joann's fabrics run their patterns on sale quite often,they are always 1/2 off and sometimes .99 cents each.Wal Mart patterns are 1/2 off as well.Also check some of your thrift stores for patterns.Our DAV thrift stoe has a very good selection.

How about salt free potato chips. I finally found some in bags about twice the size of individual lunch box sizes and cost way more than the family size salted chips. Why is that you take away ingredients and have to pay more?

pop tarts (or store brand toaster pastries)... why don't they label the individual packages inside the box? No matter what flavor it says on the box, the individual packages inside are just plain silver foil, no writing. Now how do I know what flavor it is when I put a couple boxes into my snack drawer? I have to remember to take a permanent marker (cuz that's all that writes on that foil) and label the flavor myself before I put them in the drawer. Every other kind of individual snacks in multi-packs are wrapped in an identifiable package, but not these. Why don't they label their packages?

Stephanie-They do that to keep the convenience stores and such from being able to buy the big box for less than what they would have to pay in bulk from a wholesaler then selling the individual packages at a big profit! That irritates me too.
I buy the big boxes for DGD and put them all in a big cookie jar.DGD never knows what she is getting.LOL

Oilskin is too heavy and too bulky--the slicker looks good, but I wonder how long it is. It doesn't look TOO short.

I saw something labeled "waterproof" at L.L.Bean, but I've hadn't seen that Lands End one yet. I'll have to look into that.

All the REI ones are jackets. None of them are knee length. No, wait, I see a very few. Who in the world wants a waterproof jacket that ends at the waist? Eww! a wet butt?

Talley, the yellow rain slicker says..."snap leg closures"... looks like the snaps at the lower end of the coat, that leads me to believe it is as long as the others. did you see the one just above the yellow slicker?

And what's all this stuff about men's trousers comming only in leg lengths in 3 inch increments, i.e., 26-28, 29-31, 32-34, etc. Pants labeled 29-31 are going to be 31 inch and if you have a 29 in inseam, you're going to have to re-hem.

jemdandy - BMW has a heated steering wheel. I drove my girlfriend's one day and it really felt good.

Jodi - At our old house we went to a big carpet store, bought a remnant, had it cut to size and bound. It didn't cost that much to cut and bind and we saved a good bit since it was a remnant.
