The general method of garlic growing is plant in the fall, harvest the next summer. Save your biggest bulbs for planting that fall. At planting time, you pop the cloves, and plant them individually. Then repeat following years. What you have sounds alot like my mom's elephant garlic plot I helped clean up a few years ago. It had been neglected for seveal years. A couple of the years my step-father tilled the area in teh fall when everything was dead, and covered with chopped leaves and grass clippings from the yard, hoping to smother everything. I told him all the tilling did was spread the bulbs and cloves around, and the mulching was really protecting and feeding them. The soil was awesome! Then it was just left a couple of years. So what we had were bulbs that died back in the summer/fall, and the cloves then started growing new bulbs. Not every bulb or clove survived, but I pulled some of the biggest clumps of the tiniest elephant garlic you will ever see. Plus some reasonable sized ones, and rounds, and even 2 truly sized elephant garlic bulbs. I did pick the scapes first. I ended up with 2 brown paper grocery bags full of scapes! What we did, and what my recommendation would be to you is: -- We pulled it all in the summer just as leaf die back started, maybe a bit earlier than ideal, but we wanted to clean it up. -- The small bulbs (and rounds) that were generally unusable for planting and to small or annoying to process in anyway, were composted. -- The biggest bulbs (and rounds) were kept for seed garlic. My mom kept only enough to grow the amount she wanted the next year, plus I got some. -- Everything left over was put aside for use in the kitchen and to be given away. I believe the bulbils you planted will produce what are called rounds. It looks like one clove that didn't divide. Those can be picked and dried and re-planted and they will produce a bulb the following year. Good luck.

I'm not getting it either. Designs like that show up all the time in rustic style furniture. That's not a terrific example of one but not surprising/scary. You'll probably find scarier (and more expensive) things at Cabela's

My old kitchen has one circuit for everything but the stove and lighting. You cant run the microwave if the crockpot is on, the dishwasher is on, and the fridge is running. I have to prep with my back to the stove. The cabinets are falling off the walls. The stove is right against a cabinet side. You cant open the oven and dishwasher at the same time. There is one sink. It is only 27"wide. I feel nothing but glee at the prospect of my addition. We paid hundreds of thousands less for this house than the going rate because of this stupid kitchen. Fixing it is a long time coming! I am trying to be careful enough about my choices that in 20'years, I will need to do no more than replace the cabinet fronts and maybe countertop if it's dated. If I get the layout right, that will be the case. :) But I'm choosing cabinets that look a lot like the originals. So hopefully not even that! I am the only one in my circle who keeps cars forever. I don't like them. I got super advanced safety features when I got mine. When I have to get another, I'll do it again. But I've had housekeepers with much nicer cars than mine. :)

When I moved to George West, TX my lawn had a huge fungal circle. It was so big I could not see it from the ground, but I could see it from the Google Earth pictures. If you stood in the yard all you saw was the deep green grass growing faster than the rest. Inside the circle the grass was sickly. Actually, outside the circle it was sickly, too. The only good grass was at the perimeter. Fungus can be crazy. Over the next couple of years the circle expanded until it enclosed the small tree in the middle of the yard. I had that yard transformed when I left, but the new owners have gone a different direction.
